I've resisted the URGE many many times to bring forward to the current threads what was first in the early threads. IMO, the early threads are the most important sometimes. :)

Sharon knew when Stacy got the new cell phone, she said Stacy brought it over to her house and left it.
I believe on last night's interview they stated she got the new phone on or around Oct. 17th.

If she left the phone with Sharon...then wouldn't Sharon have immediately known something was horribly wrong had Stacy left without coming to get it for the day?! I don't know...I don't think she would keep her cell at Sharon's. Maybe for the first day or so...but she would want that phone with her.

I agree. There is a lot of value in those when things move away from the inital reports. Going back can bring up questions later on that were long forgotten due to how fast cases move, like this one has. Things get lost in the shuffle...such as Bruce. : )

Good question here IMO, WHICH IS WHAT I WANT TO KNOW:

I think is from SS:

Since Stacy told Cass about this, ah, it would only make sense, to go back and find out the date that Cass or any other family member first mentions when Stacy got a "new" cell phone. Then, IMO, it would all come together. Timeline thread needed on cell phones. :)

This was being discussed at another board-

Yep, we don't know much about the phone or if there were two phones. It seems to me that she would get a new phone with new service seperate and apart from Drew's account. Otherwise he would be able to keep tabs on the new phone number. I would think she would use her old phone/number to continue to communicate with Drew P. What would be the point of a new number if she was going to give that info to Drew? She might have been working two phones. Hiding one to communicate privately with a select few and probably not Drew. She had the new number for about 10 days to the day she was last heard from.

Stacy says to her dad "I want to give you my new number" and the others that were interviewed about Stacy calling them to give them her new number. New number. Same phone with new number or new phone with new number. It was reported that phones were removed during the SW. I think it was also reported that Stacy's phone was left in her car.

Well there we go! TY!!

I think it was a new phone with a new number, and the bill was being (or going to be) sent to Cassandra.

Thanks chico and crocus!!!!!!!!

So October 17th would be the date of the new cell phone?

11 days before her disappearance..................

That's really the only thing that makes sense. Isn't this something that's suggested to those that are leaving an abusive relationship? Get things ready, get a new safe phone etc??

Don't know when she actually got it, only that her recordeded message giving her new number to her dad was on that date.

Sharon is the one that made the statement about her bringing it over to her house. Don't think she would have ever left it there, maybe just for the time being maybe until she could program in all her contact numbers ????

Thanks, Guys! That makes more sense now. Two phones and two different services. If she were leaving the number for her Dad...why wouldn't it be reasonable for Bruce to have that number from Cassandra? See where I am going with this?

Yes, having a safe phone is part of the plan. However, if the husband finds the safe phone...you would have hell to pay...wouldn't you?!

And how, which leads me to wonder where she could have kept it in the house that DP would not have found it?

Exactly. A man that suspected her constantly (recently with reason due to Rosetto in his mind) would also suspect something if all the sudden normal phone calls were not coming into the phone number he was monitoring. He would have looked for a new phone.

Cassandra mentioned in one interview early that she had dinner with Stacy at the house on Friday night and Drew came home. She said Stacy acted very nice to him...fixed him a plate, etc. but that Drew seemed very angry or agitated. He left in a huff and went back to work. Did he figure it out by then, but did not find the phone until Sunday morning perhaps?

Oh yes, that's what I was thinking! About the "normal" amount of minutes used had dwindled, and he figured out she must be using another phone.

If only we knew what LE knows..........

We can assume that DP would not know the NEW cell phone number........

so he can't call it to find out where it is in the house.

Stacy, living with DP for the last 4 years before here disappearance, would know where DP goes in the house.

I would think she would find a place that DP has never been at to put her new cell phone at, but yet............easily accessible to her when needed.

Knowing that DP is a police officer and maybe she was trying to think like DP would as a police officer.............

IMO.........Stacy would not have the cell phone in the house knowing DP searches everywhere.............

Maybe, hidden in a her vehicle.............Being with DP, who likes to brag alot, she got some hints in some crimes that DP had investigated.

A little cut somewhere in the car seats, or something.......or maybe just put somewhere off the road.........???

Just trying to bring up some thoughts for all to think about.

I don't know if Stacy would realize he could figure it out because of the lack of "normal" calls coming into the other phone. She might have overlooked this point and felt safe to keep it in the house even under her mattress while turned off or had it set on the same ring tone so he would think the new one was the old one?

No, not confusing those. I went back and read the first two threads before I posted this. In one interview, Cassandra stated they texted back and forth that morning. Cassandra wasn't awake to talk to Bruce that morning before he texted Stacy. Cass was supposed to call Bruce when she got up, but she didn't. In the interview in the hallway with Greta and Mark F., Cassandra said that she didn't even know about the painting. I will go back and bring those interviews here.

But if Cassandra had just been told by Stacy on Friday night she "feared for her life" (iirc) and then on Saturday Cassandra was with Stacy until 11:30 pm,
then I am surprised that did she not know about the painting project.
What time was the first call Cassandra made to Stacy on Sunday? And which number did she call? The new one or the old one or both?

Was there a date on the voicemail that Stacy left on her father's answering machine?
