Swollen Anderson Reservoir Spills Over For First Time in 11 Years

http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/loca...ver-For-First-Time-in-11-Years-414161393.html

After a five-year drought, California desperately needed some rain. But now the problem is that it won’t stop. According to a study published Monday in Nature Geoscience, it is because of a condition known as atmospheric rivers, or water vapors that extend thousands of miles from the tropics to the western US.

just to chime in. as a norcal resident this rain is nothing nice. I live in san jose. we had flash flood warning by my house last night for penitencia creek by alum rock, and this creek runs through the park a few blocks away. it has breeched in two places and the field a block away from my house is flooded, thankfully it is a low laying field, but it is raging through the field like it is a whole other creek and has flooded the busy street (mabury) on the other side of the field and has had to be sand bagged, and idk how long that will hold up. less than a mile further up penitencia creek has a lot of homeless living in it, has had search and rescue last night for some ppl clinging to trees. coyote creek has search and rescue today because about 30 ppl are clinging to trees. it is A MESS. US 101 and I 280 were flooded last night.

here is a fb pic of 101

I am not sure why CA of all states, needs 320 million from D.C . Va had to sell its stake in 1-95 to a private company .

O/T. Va still got some federal money(taxpayers) for i95, it's a toll road that was built by Transurban Company out of australia and they get the toll money, go figure. I don't know that they want to build a rd without a toll. :) jmo

my brother in law was mandatory evaced last night. he was able to return home today though

Thanks to everyone posting videos links and updates. This is where I go to stay updated on what's going on. All I see in MSM is a wall of Trump news, and I don't have time to find the weather pages because, life.

It's amazing - drought to deluge with no middle ground. Stay safe, California.
