Danville police on Monday found missing teen Allison Bayliss' bicycle locked up at a bike stand in San Francisco's Crissy Field. Bayliss was last seen on Monday at 8 a.m. near her locker at San Ramon Valley High School where she is a sophomore.

Media outlets are reporting that the 15-year-old had left a note near her computer which led the search into San Francisco this morning. Her father, David Bayliss, searched two miles of the waterfront at Crissy Field before finding her purple and black Diamondback mountain bike locked up at a stand.

"We found a note on her computer with directions to this location," her father told reporters. "I have asked local law enforcement to bring all available resources to look for her. We are awaiting a helicopter and water support to look in the water. Other than that we are just hoping and praying that Allison is alive."

I am so very sad to hear this.

I hope Allison's family, and indeed all who loved her, have good support systems in place and are provided ready access to counseling (and whatever else they need to get through this). My heart truly goes out to them.

Precious Alliy:

You are more loved than you ever knew, and will be missed by more than ever knew you.

Sleep well, our darling, and may whatever you dream of be always pleasant.

How do they know for sure she was suicidal?

Is it outside the realm of possibility that she staged this to appear like she was killing herself, but perhaps was running off with a boy or running away from something upleasant in her life?

From what I am gathering, there is film of her walking onto the bridge, but not off. How do they know she didn't get into a car and was driven off? I have walked the GG Bridge many times and it would be very easy to pull this off.

She locked up her bike. Why? Why does a person killing themself lock up their bike?

It seems like they are awfully quick to label it a suicide and consider her dead. I heard there was a note found in the home, but later read that the police were in no possession of any sort of note. Has she expressed a desire to take her own life in the past? I guess if LE are calling off the investigation, the family must have a reason to believe she is dead, otherwise they would be all over the media trying to keep her case active.

I just don't understand. :(

I believe the news said the suicide note was found on her computer, so that is why it wouldn't be "in the hands" of police. I also wondered if a car could have picked her up on the bridge and driven her away somewhere.
