This all makes the most sense to me too...
then her phone pinging Sunday morning in YC...but reportedly not found until Monday,
bugs me.

True. That is an anomaly for sure. We'll just have to see if it is accurate, as far as when/where it pinged and if there are any technical reasons that could explain it away. I suppose we'll have to wait until the cell carrier chimes into the investigation with what they found.

Best case scenario; it's all a well executed hoax set up by Aly with the help of her friends and they were so stoned they slipped up with the phone.

Truer words have never been spoken. We can only hope this is the case.

There is also another anomaly that bugs me since we're pointing to holes in my theory - I don't necessarily like that this man nor any of his family members appear to be social media acquaintances of hers. One would think that there would be at the very least those kinds of ties since A) there is a picture of she and he on IG from the year prior, and B) the fact that she went out to dinner with him and hung out at his house afterwards. Those kinds of ties don't suggest a recent introduction, nor merely a peripheral type of relationship. Rather, the opposite.

JMO, of course.

If you do a virtual drive on google down Pennington Road, you can see the gate on that end of the levee, there's space beside the gate, on the Pennington side, just like on the Comey side, that would be just as easy to drive around.
Watch the video of the security cam on Comey, the truck drove around the side of the closed gate to get onto the levee.

I respectfully disagree on the CA stereotype.
California, like Oregon, is not all the anti gun liberal haven of it's reputation, especially inland in farm country (like Oregon).
The tea party is strong out there.
Check out local's social media in Yuba City and Live Oak and you will find plenty of right wing conservatives and libertarians that are strong believers in the right to bear arms, the castle doctrine, and all the ideology that comes with it.
I see more right wing people than anti gun liberals in that area, more like Alabama folks than the CA stereotype.
Did you know there are more white supremacist gangs in CA than any other state, including Texas?

Read some of these links, you'll think you're in Alabama.

YUBA CITY (CBS13) – Local sheriffs and gun rights supporters joined forces Monday to voice their opposition to tougher gun control laws in California.

They have regular gun shows in YC.

YC gun owners are strong believers and are very organized.

This inland CA property owner shot and killed a trespasser in his sweet potato patch.
http://www.guns.com/2013/07/24/ca-h...ls-homeless-trespasser-caught-stealing-video/

Do you have a link for the video of the truck driving around the gate? I can't seem to find it.

As for guns, I have lived in California and Oregon for a long while. California has the lowest gun ownership of any state outside the Northeast. Oregon is another matter, but neither state has a castle doctrine and there is zero tolerance for shooting trespassers. It's very rare that it happens, and when it does, it usually results in a conviction for the shooter.

Just wanted to let you all know I'm making a Timeline.... need to go out for a few, and will be back to post it.

"Campground Host on site 24/7" at the Pennington road park, according to the Sutter County site.

If Aly met drove herself to the orchard to meet people and something bad happened to her, accident or not, why would someone take her phone to Yuba City and return it later?
Well to try to frame the last person she was with or at least that area. Maybe someone the abductor might be jealous or mad at. It's a good thought.

I'm going with Occam's razor for now and say that she is likely somewhere near her truck/the orchard, and probably due to the immediate circumstances that she found herself in after driving off the road and getting stuck. If she was intoxicated - particularly if she was intoxicated from potent/laced cannabis - it would explain much of the erratic behavior and circumstances that have heretofore been looked at as suspicious. If you'll recall, her older male friend likes "girls that smoke" (so much that he named his record similarly), and from the IG pics it appears that she may have been a groupie of his music. So it follows that cannabis was likely consumed that night. If so, and if it was of the potent variety, and if it was coupled with moderate to heavy alcohol use, then she could have become significantly disoriented at any given point along her route to wherever she was going. She looks to be a rather petite female, so it wouldn't take too much excess substance-use to get her into this state. Add emotional turmoil to the mix from her ex and/or this man that night, and there you go.

In any case, I don't think it was murder or kidnapping or an overdose coverup. At least for now, that is, and with the information we have. The FBI becoming involved stoked those flames for a little while, but turned out to be a non-issue due to the ransom demands being fraudulent. The Sheriff's department then immediate resumed jurisdiction, and their narrative quickly shifted back to "we don't know anything" and "no foul play suspected".

Plus, I am convinced that those footprints were from a female's shoe (thanks to a fellow sleuth posting pictures of her own muddy shoes a couple of days ago), and as far as we know - and with the information we have - no other female is officially a part of this story. Most importantly, no other set of footprints exist at the scene that we have been told by LE, or that any reporter has seen for him or herself.

Sure, we can take all of this uncertainty and speculate with some pretty extravagant theories if we wanted to, but I choose to just follow the facts and probabilities for now.

All JMO, of course.

Great timeline, thank you. This is the only thing I saw that needs to be changed. The truck was caught on surveillance on March 30th around 10:55 PM.

So...the Sprint store...is literally right by the Wal-Mart, AKA right by the field of the Sunday 4:30AM ping, AKA near Romero St., AKA the last place she was seen. :gaah:
I don't think it's very likely that the person who found the phone happened to turn it on at/near the Sprint store when they turned it in. But I suppose it's possible? Do they have some sort of mail or drop box at the store?

The folks that turned it in didn't find the phone till Monday..by the truck...they say. So, if their story is true, somebody else had the phone Sunday morning when it pinged and put it by the truck on Monday.
