Harwick’s roommate, Michael Herman, awoke around 1 a.m. on Feb. 15 to the sounds of a violent struggle in her third-floor bedroom. Herman told police that he could not find his phone, so he scaled a courtyard wall and ran to a neighboring home for help, The Associated Press reported.

When police officers arrived, they found Harwick lying on the ground 20 feet below her bedroom balcony. She was rushed to a hospital, where she died.

Dr. #AmieHarwick’s roommate testified Wednesday about what he heard and what he did when he realized she was getting attacked inside her Hollywood Hills home in February 2020. “It sounded like Amie’s voice screaming… blood curdling screams… it was just loud,” Michael Herman explained. “I thought she saw a mouse, literally.” Herman allegedly screamed up the stairs to Harwick before he ran to a neighbor’s house for help. Hawrwick's ex-boyfriend, #GarethPursehouse, is on trial for her murder.

Amie Harwick’s Friend Tears Up, Breaks Down Recalling Last Night with Her Before Brutal Murder​


Amie Harwick’s long-time friend, Rebecka Jallad, took the stand Wednesday and testified about their group’s night out in February 2020, just hours before the Hollywood sex therapist was brutally murdered in her home. Jallad broke down in tears viewing photos of her with Harwick that night and described her last text messages to her friend before she stopped responding around 1 a.m. on February 15. Harwick was then strangled and thrown off the third-floor balcony at her California home. Her neighbor’s ring security camera caught her alleged killer leaving the residence at 1:11 a.m.

Famed sex therapist Amie Harwick was found outside of her Hollywood Hills home struggling to hold onto life after allegedly being thrown off of a third-story balcony in 2020. Harwick died at a hospital shortly after the fall from blunt force injuries to her head and torso, along with evidence of strangulation. Authorities quickly zeroed in on her ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse, who had previous restraining orders filed against him by Harwick and was described as a “stalker” by many of the doctor’s friends. Pursehouse now faces trial in a California courtroom for Harwick’s murder. Pursehouse's defense said the defendant admitted to breaking into Harwick's home but did not murder her. They are seeking a not guilty verdict on the murder charge and asking for a lesser charge.

The footage shows officers going from room to room clearing the scene, until they ultimately find Harwick’s body underneath her third-floor balcony. Harwick’s ex-boyfriend — Gareth Pursehouse — is accused of breaking into her home, waiting for her to arrive, strangling her, then throwing her body over her bedroom’s balcony.
