A National Park Service ranger approached a man parked on the side of the road on Hawk Hill around 11:45 a.m. because he was vomiting off the side of his car, said U.S. Park Police spokeswoman Christine Powell. After briefly questioning the man, the ranger searched his white Honda Civic and discovered the body in the trunk, she said.

Authorities said the body of a 21-year-old white woman appeared to have been dead for 12 to 24 hours. An autopsy was planned to determine the identity and exact cause of death.

It seems very strange that a body was found in the trunk of his car and he was released from the hospital then questioned the next day. why was he vomiting, because of something he did? Did he know her? How did she get there? Was he away from his car for her to be placed in there?
Too many questions.....

A jury in December convicted Scott McAlpin, 28, of El Sobrante, of first-degree murder for the Oct. 22, 2005, strangulation of 22-year-old Anastasia "Annie" Melnitchenko. McAlpin and Melnitchenko had dated off and on for more than four years and he had been incarcerated several times for domestic violence offenses.

Jurors deliberated two days before finding Scott McAlpin, 28, guilty as charged in the October 2005 slaying of 22-year-old Anastasia "Annie" Melnitchenko, of San Francisco.

Moments after the verdict was read, McAlpin's mother stood up and yelled at the jurors. "You know what you did," Bonnie McAlpin said before she was admonished by Judge Charles Burch. Sheriff's deputies later detained and then released her outside the courtroom.

But the outburst concerned several jurors enough that they asked deputies to escort them to their cars, said Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee.

An El Sobrante man was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison today for killing his girlfriend in 2005 and stuffing her body into the trunk of his car...

A strike for prior convictions for assaulting Melnitchenko with force likely to cause great bodily injury doubled the statutory first-degree murder sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
