Clearly this may be....but I find it a long shot. They would have found her body by now, if so. JMO.
I don't think she deserves to be forgotten and for her case to 'cool off'.

If YOU disappeared, I wouldn't abandon you.
Drone technology has improved dramatically. Perhaps at some stage the family will contact one of the volunteer search and rescue drone operations for help.
The advanced detection capabilities are pretty impressive

One of the few things LE said is that they had photographic evidence that Barb was at the Cholla Garden that day. They didn't say when.

So she couldn't have been at the vet (it was a dogcare place, IIRC) or at the Chevron. LE says she was at the place where the RV was parked when the 911 call was made.

It's even possible that the picture that was widely circulated is, in fact, from that day. LE has never confirmed it, just released it. Our verified insider said it was photographic proof of his aunt's presence in the Mojave Preserve.

But she was at the dogcare place. At least one witness saw her and spoke to her when she brought the dog in.

I haven't heard of the "Cholla Garden" before. Where is that, please?

It's the hiking area where Barbara was last seen, according to RT.

The turn-out where the truck was parked is immediately opposite it (it was blooming). And then, one can walk onward to the Granite Mountains (aka Granite Hills). The SAR photos in the media thread show the Cholla (a very spiky cactus species that looks flowery, but sends its spines into people who brush against them).

Actually the Cholla Gardens are in Joshua Tree National Park, though there are also Cholla in the Mojave National Preserve, they are 70 miles or so apart.

Thanks, I hadn't heard it called the Cholla Garden before. I thought you might have been referring to a bar or restaurant or something like that.

I'm still confused by the rest of your post that I replied to though. Why did you say Barbara couldn't have been at the dog place or at the Chevron?

I agree a worker seemed positive that BT is the one who dropped the dog off.

Please help my memory on this fact. Did LE find any sign or get responses from the dogs that Barbara was ever at the RV pullover sight? TIA.

LE told our VI @dbdb11 that evidence from photos showed that Barbara (BT) and Robert (RT) had been when and where RT said they were. Though it's possible that RT told LE something different from what he told the media, it seems likely that the photos provided evidence that BT was in the search area within a timeframe that roughly fits with what he told the media. But that could leave a fair amount of time unaccounted for -- he could've taken the photos towards the beginning of the walk he says they took. (It's also possible, though presumably less likely, that the time-stamps on the photos were incorrect or had been manipulated, or that LE wasn't telling @dbdb11 the whole truth.)

IIRC, LE also said that the dogs and searchers didn't pick up signs of BT at that area, despite a lengthy search (was it 7 days? 9 days?). So there's a possible contradiction. That said, perhaps conditions were such that the dogs missed her scent... JMO

I seem to recall that LE never announced they had evidence that BT had been at the site of the 911 call, but that they or someone had told the VI there was photo evidence. I believe the VI but yet I wonder if he was told the truth. I can’t really think why anyone would lie to him as he was out of the country and not a suspect. But I’m pretty sure that was not an official statement so I’m still kind of iffy about it. I keep thinking the photo, of any, was from another time.

It would seem (?) quite hard to believe LE didn't have good reason to believe Barb was indeed in that area, given all the resources expended looking for her.

I personally believe that LE did not search for 9 days unless they had seen some evidence she was at that location when her husband said she was there. They have also had lots of time now to check and re-check her husband's version of events that day and, so far, he is not in custody. Either he is a criminal genius, or she got lost.

Crews Suspend Daily Searches for 69-Year-Old Woman Who Vanished on Mojave Desert Hike

The article above was posted by KTLA on July 22, 2019. From the article: "Authorities on Monday suspended daily searches for a 69-year-old woman who disappeared earlier this month while hiking in above 100-degree weather in the Mojave Desert."<snip>

LE responded July 12, 2019 and searched daily for BT until Monday, July 22, 2019.

Poor woman, she went out in the desert during a heat warning, and wasn't prepared for it. I think she died from the heat. With all the scavengers and the monsoons, I doubt she'll ever be found. That is so sad. I think about her sometimes when I'm in that area.

I just sent an email to Mohave Daily News Editor, Bill McMillen- bmcmillen@mohavedailynews.com

I asked if MDN would consider writing a news story on Barbara's disappearance. The one year anniversary is approaching, we've yet to hear the 911 call, or receive any updates from SBCSO :(

Thank you! This might jog memories.

hello everyone. has there been anything on american news/media about Barbara? has this case gone cold for now? I don't want her to be forgotten.
Nothing lately. I know it's been a long time, but let's use Paul Miller (who was lost in Joshua Tree) as an example. If the same drone fly over techniques are used, there is a chance the remains can be recovered. I'd like to see that approach.
