If you follow The reporter Jake Hanrahan on his twitter feed you will see anything new. The Texas training camp weekend photos are there, he had them up prior to the propublica story.

Yes, he did, and he is to be included in the Google search.

On Jake's Hanrahan twitter there is a picture he got from SW Snapchat of himself with gay pride/rights writing on it. I'm not doubting his research but I'm wondering if the pic could be altered.

Not sure what you mean, but if it is the pictures in Hanrahan's twitter feed, both with the mask and without appear to me to look like Texas Hill Country terrain. One pic has live oaks, the other junipers. If that's what you are referring to. https://twitter.com/Jake_Hanrahan/status/957063970581614592

Definitely looks like Texas Hill Country area to me as well. The area around the Frio River comes to mind.

What exactly is the argument about where these pictures were taken? I don't understand the back and forth about it. It seems they were taken in Texas. For those who think they weren't taken in Texas, what is your argument?

From the pro-publica article:

"Woodward joined the organization in early 2016 and later traveled to Texas to attend Atomwaffen meetings and a three-day training camp, which involved instruction in firearms, hand-to-hand combat, camping and survival skills, the former member said.*ProPublica has obtained photographs of Woodward at an outdoor Atomwaffen meeting in the scrubby Texas countryside. One of the photos depicts Woodward and other members making straight-armed Nazi salutes while wearing skull masks. In other pictures, Woodward is unmasked and easily identifiable."

IMO part of the problem is there are pictures out there that have been altered, many people claiming they have knowledge of SW activities but use the same pics and tell different stories about them, UK journalist that claims he has sources but some of it doesn't match up with other facts. So I think some are having a tough time taking everything as fact. I for one have looked at so many pictures and statements about SW that I don't know what to take as fact and what is fiction.

I still lean towards this being something between two men that went horribly wrong that night, once LE releases actual facts I may change my mind with regard to what caused SW to commit this horrible act.

I, along with multiple other people here, can tell you that those photos originated from Jake Hanrahan

The masked photo & unmasked photo are not the same topographical area. The unmasked photo is being used as "evidence" of "SW" in the masked group photo. The unmasked photo does not contain any of the "group" paraphenial. Members of the "group" are supplying "internet" accounts not in SW's name.

I have yet to see a direct link tying SW & the group. However, I have seen a relative unknown group gain recognition through BB's death.

So, are you suggesting the group masked photo was doctored or manufactured? And the unmasked one, in which he appears to be wearing the same clothes as in the group photo?

If you read back a bit in the threads you will see that it is not a "relative unknown group" and in fact is implicated in the murders of two other people who have a thread here. It's disturbing that someone would disregard the investigative reporting of ProPublica. Who would you believe if not ProPublica? It's not like they're some obscure, unknown news organization. They're very well respected. This is the problem now that so many have bought in to the "fake news" myth. It's really dangerous.

He's wearing the exact same clothes and his hair is exactly the same. Those photos were taken the same day.

I give no merit to anything in that article. Too much "reaching". Headline is sensationalized, but the article gives nothing credible. Blaze's Mother NEVER said she was worried about sending her Son off into the world because he was a small gay Jew. Come on people.

You realize that section is quoting another publication?

"The Los Angeles Times quoted his mother, Jeanne Pepper Bernstein, as saying she had worried during her son’s life that he might be a target -- because he was small, and Jewish, and gay.

'I was concerned sending him out into the big world,' she said. 'But at some point you have to let go and they leave the nest and fly. I couldn’t protect him from everything.' "

Do we have any confirmation or evidence other than his defense attorney's statement that SW was an eagle scout? Seems like there should be a national registry.

You know what we'll get to discuss soon? SW Groupies. You know they're out there (and here, too). I wonder how many love letters he's getting.

Similar clothing & hair. Look at the hands on the individual photo. Whats the white line? The unmasked photo is out of focus. I cannot compare the hair part & texture. The dates of the photos is unknown.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the thoughts of SW having groupies- but you are right, there will be idiots that will worship him, and girls will fall in love with him and tell them they will wait for him to get out so they can get married.

Now please excuse me while I go barf.......

It was reported to be in Texas. I wrote to Jake Hanrahan when his Twitter feed first told the attomwaffen Sam story and asked for more evidence. He's no rookie. He checks, it's easy to see, if a photo has ever been edited. He verifies his sources from multiple angles. I trust him absolutely not to publish anything he hasn't checked out.

Propublica is top notch too.

Personally, I still think the method and manner of the murder, and their shared history, indicates a crime of passion.

But SW clearly was part of this group. His own words within the group do not indicate homophobia, only racism. Maybe his shirt was a test to see how the others would take it. I'm sure the groups attitude to murder helped his rage turn deadly. I just doubt it was the motivator or that he lured Blaze into a murder trap. I don't see a lot of evidence of a long term plan...e.g. Alibi, etc.

A lot of the articles that are using propublica as their only source fail to mention that he left or was booted from Atomwaffen this summer. He was radicalized by someone else to leave school and take up metal work (?). No one yet knows who this guy was nor what group he represented. So we don't have anywhere near the full story.

Atomwaffen has been in the news a lot because of the four other murders associated with them and the evidence they found: homemade explosives and plans to blow up things like nuclear power plants. They were all personal murders.

Some info on the Atomwaffen group:

‘Jews are the first enemy identified on their homepage’

Of all the groups spawned by the alt-right wave, Atomwaffen has been deemed particularly dangerous by the Anti-Defamation League, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and other civil rights groups. In addition to providing combat training to members, the organization celebrates each act of violence as a step toward all-out race war.

Members value self-sufficiency, whether living autonomously or being ready to carry out “lone wolf” attacks, for which they are trained in hand-to-hand combat and firearms.

Formally, Atomwaffen’s “resistance” is to “Jewish oligarchies and globalist bankers” who are causing “the white race’s displacement.” Blacks and LGBT individuals are also targeted for “ethnic cleansing.” The stated ultimate goal is to overthrow the US government and establish a National Socialist state, and the group is not shy about calling for its enemies’ annihilation.

“In the hate group’s messaging, gays and Jews are vehemently targeted. LGBT people are urged to commit suicide by hanging themselves, and AIDS is praised for “working” against its ostensible target. In a military-style training video posted earlier this month, members shout “gas the kikes” while firing guns, and Jews are the first enemy identified on the group’s homepage”.

“We have a strong sense of comradery,” according to one of several “strict requirements for joining” listed on the Atomwaffen website. “You must be willing to participate and bring something to the table. Simply being white and existent, alone, is not enough,” according to the fourth requirement of the five listed, called “enthusiasm.”

The Atomwaffen Division website spews hatred against people who are Jewish, gay and black,*and condemns so-called “race traitors.”

Members attend white supremacist rallies and events, and “have been linked to violent crimes including murder and alleged plots to attack civilians, nuclear facilities and synagogues,”*according to the Anti-Defamation League. They also participate in “hate camps” that involve attending military-style training exercises, the ADL says.

I've brought this up too many times. Family was heavily involved in scouting, a parent was a leader, a sibling is listed as becoming an Eagle Scout. Nothing on SW. There are some other troops in the area, so I guess it's possible. One produces a ton of Eagle Scouts. I would have expected to be able to find him doing a service project or see a mention in a newspaper.
