Bryce has a permanent mouth piece from what I can remember, correct? This should make it easier to determine if the remains belong to him. Assuming all was intact.

Whiteorchids, I can't find where you mentioned the note from the roommate. Not sure why this is not ringing a bell for me. You and I were both on here religiously from day 1...I know that. I just can't recall the letter for some reason. I know they I interviewed him, but I thought he was keeping tight lipped about something Bryce had told him, and sworn to secretly, right? 🤔

UPDATE: the human skull found in unincorporated Lake Hughes has been determined to NOT be Bryce. The dental examination revealed extensive dental work and the skull is believed to be of an older man who was most likely not caucasian.

I will look for it. I was really hoping he would be found. Poor Bryce. 😓

I too have been here since Day 1.... Sure was hoping it would be Bryce!

Where are you??!!

He gave away the diamond earring his mother gave him to his roommate and the last text he sent was to his roommate (sounded like a "goodbye" text to me MOO.) There wasn't any written note that I remember. It is my opinion that his roommate and his girlfriend hold the clues as to whether or not his actions leaving up to his disappearance were indicative of someone contemplating suicide.

BBM. We don't know if it was his intention to purposely drive over that drop-off.

I can't see someone who's been in a major car wreck would think to go for a swim. Also that water would be very cold that time of the morning.

BBM While we do not know 100% his intention as no one has been able to ask him LE stated in the ID episode that they are confident he intentionally drove down and off the embankment. This is my transcription of what was stated in the episode regarding him driving down the embankment:

"Bryce travels along the side of the cell tower, towards the lake, continues down the hill, based on the tracks left behind he is hitting the excelerator as he was going down the hill, he was blazing his own trail as he was going down…. Based on the speed of the car he was actually unearthing large rocks, the undercarriage was hitting large rocks and this indicates that there was some speed involved…not a car in neutral. According to the detective, All of Bryce’s actions were deliberate."

Thank you. It was the diamond earring. I couldn't remember for the life of me.

Thanks, I have yet t see the episode. While I'm a full supporter of LE, because of some other cases I've followed, I'm reluctant to be convinced of all their assumptions or conclusions. They can be wrong. If there was evidence of acceleration before the drop off, I'd like to see it. Maybe he was at a dead stop when he did so. Or maybe he stepped on the gas by mistake trying to avoid going over. Also a car would pick up speed as well going down an embankment.

"based on the tracks left behind he is hitting the excelerator as he was going down the hill" Maybe I'm not understanding what you are saying? There was a hill and then an embankment. While I agree that LE doesn't always get it right evidence from a car crash (especially when the car is abandoned where it crashed) can tell how fast someone was traveling and whether or not they were accelerating or not before they crashed. He deliberately drove his car into the area of the hill (off the road), accelerated down the hill (fast enough to leave tracks and unearth large rocks), and then crashed over the side of the embankment. He didn't stop before crashing over the embankment (did he know there was an embankment at the bottom of the hill? No one knows for sure. Or did he think maybe there wasn't and his car would go straight into the lake? More than likely, from what I have been told about that specific area.)

I agree that no one in their right mind would think to go for a swim after getting into an accident (the extent of his injuries are another mystery....some say very minor while others think he may have had head trauma.....) but Bryce wasn't acting in his right mind in the days, hours and minutes leading up to the crash so it is hard to determine what he would do in the odd state of mind he appeared to be in. MOO

He could have been disoriented and lost when he pulled off, and maybe driving a little fast. This was early in the morning (or late at night, he was tired). Once he saw the edge, he went to step on the brakes but hit the gas instead. A this point he may have hit his head which would have maybe knocked him out sending his car down the hill.

Just my two cents here,

If he fell asleep at the wheel, he could have mashed the gas. That is not deliberate. I saw the episode and left me with a few more questions but with no answers.

The area he was driving in (in the dirt, off the road) he deliberately had to carefully maneuver his car into (hope I am explaining that properly) he wasn't just driving down the paved road, fell asleep and accelerated down that dirt hill and down the embankment.

How is LE certain Bryce was the driver of the car?

Maybe matched the blood in car with Bryce's DNA?? :dunno:

Maybe Voice4theSilent can answer that? I've forgotten so much since the beginning!

He was caught on video driving his car around the area prior to the crash and no one else appeared to be in the car with him. Also, the blood found in the car was his (uncle & LE believe it to be his so I assume it was tested though I don't have a link to support that.) There was absolutely zero indication that anyone other than Bryce was driving his car; everything points to him being the driver and being alone.

ETA: I have forgotten some things, too....can't believe it has been so long. Where are you, Bryce?

Remains found near Templin not those of Bryce Laspisa
A human skull and teeth found 10 weeks ago in a hilly rugged stretch of terrain near Templin Highway are not those of Bryce Laspisa who vanished four years ago.

When investigators revealed in May that they hoped dental work would lead them to the identity of victim, they received calls from the families of missing people, Ed Winter, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, said Wednesday.

Ok, I haven't followed as closely as some of you. But I have peripherally followed.

Just watched the disappeared.

I think schizophrenia surfaced. I honestly do. His behavior became very erratic. Even if the vyvanse triggered it... that has happened.

My heart still breaks driving through that area. His parents are in denial 😢
