As deeply saddened as I am right now with the discovery of Chelsea's body I am relieved and thankiful that the days and nights since Thursday have been cool and mild, that the rain wasn't continuous and that she was found before the rain that is coming could get here, hopefully preserving her body and evidence.

I thought for sure she would be found in water. Figured he had no shovel so. Well guess what he really screwed up.

Please don't think for a second that I don't wish I could knock that smirk right off of his face.....just clarifying that the picture being shown wasn't the most recent mug shot (I thought that is what was being asked about his mug shot photo....if it was his recent booking photo.)

That is "defense attorney talk". It means nothing - like when gorillas bang their chests to intimidate rivals. I was on a home invasion jury, 5 counts with 2 special circumstances & it was laughable the things his attorney was suggesting 'really happened'. I could hardly keep a straight face. We found him guilty & he's still rotting in prison.

There is NO way he got back in there on Sunday. I'd say 99.9999 impossible.

It was secured by police patrol at all access points long before that and there were searchers everywhere there, VERY intensively focused on the area.

Then why were his pants wet & muddy when he was arrested? He supposedly lives close by - maybe he was with some searches. I'm really hypothesizing - wasn't at the searches.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think his vehicle may have been spotted in Ambers case (if he drives a burgandy truck it would be the same one they were searching for in the Walmart molester case, and in Ambers), and also same general area.

Someone posted a link to the article stating that the burgundy/red truck was cleared in Amber's case. It was the truck of a parent and no longer being looked for in Amber's case.

They are looking at him because he lived within a mile or two of where Amber disappeared from. He liked young girls Amber's age. He's been out for five years and this won't be his first. They may also have found items of hers at his mother's (not confirmed or even mentioned, just guessing on that one). I think at the moment, he just becomes a suspect because of the similarities in the cases.

He got a light sentence before because he made a plea deal...........
I am hoping for DP on him, but I bet he makes a plea deal again!
This time he may tell how many victims and where he put them to save his freakin life!
Then he'll be out in 20 and do it again at age 50.........

Instead of sex education being taught in school they need to teach 'sex offender' education .....and make it mandatory for every child and parent to see the databases of the SO's in their individual neighborhoods. I get so angry at some parent's apathy and downright bovine stupidity in this regard. Because, even though Chelsea's parents taught her EVERYTHING and were all on top of it all-it can still happen. Not their fault-NO!
The JUDGES.....the *advertiser censored* so rampant and accepted....the lack of neighborhood cohesiveness...all that.

You are correct. When it first appeared after his arrest it had "The Department of Justice" as a photo credit underneath it.

I think it was one on file for the sex registry.


I don't think his mug shot has been released from his arrest. IIRC

I agree, I think that was from the SO registry too.

I would like to see what he looks like now. If he more closely resembles the WalMart guy with longer hair. Do you think they will show him or his booking photos tomorrow?

Has NG shown that 4-photo strip of pics of him? (I had to change the channel.)

I just think on the same day as her body is recovered, there should be a little less "defense" in what they say. Save that for another day, imo, and show some sympathy to her family.

I think criminal defense attorneys can relate to their clients. We can't relate, thus we find them repellent.

YEP! and grabbing thumbs and bending them back - try it now on yourself grab the thumb of your other hand and try to make it touch your wrist!!! It works - taught my kids that real early in play wrestling. There are many, many ways to teach your kids to fight people bigger than they are.

When I took my self defense classes I was 5'2" and 100 lbs soaking wet - I HAD TO LEARN HOW TO FIGHT DIRTY!! lol

I'm sorry I didn't for a minute think you were defending him! It just makes me so angry at what seems to be so obvious about this guy why he should never have been out of prison.

I am so sorry for this beautiful young woman's family. How awful.

IMO, we have got to stop being stupid about sex crimes. We cast our net too widely and as a result, we have to wade through a giant pool of relatively harmless fish to find the poisonous eel. We have too many SOs in confinement and too many RSOs in the registries, and too many of them are non-violent and non-predatory. That fills our prisons beyond capacity and contributes to early releases, makes the SOs who are an actual threat to society more difficult to track, and makes the entire RSO system less powerful.

IMO, the societal problem with JAG's prior offense is not really a 20 year old interested in a 13 year old. That sort of thing happens every day and in many cases there is no issue, as young man and young lady date uneventfully. The problem is that JAG was violent. Yet, the RSO system often doesn't readily distinguish between (a) violent, predatory JAG and (b) romantic young Romeo turned in to the cops by Juliet's pissed off daddy and convicted of statutory rape.

Having to wade through all the Romeos and even the non-predatory incestuous offenders to find monsters like JAG drags down the system. It keeps LE from being able to concentrate its efforts where they are needed. It makes it hard for the public to gauge danger. It's time for an overhaul. Some states are already taking steps, and I hope that all will follow.

I'm saying he felt he had to get back to the place he buried her & throw her in the lake. A shallow grave is more likely to be found & yield evidence than a body found in water.

I thought it was said on NG that Gardner lives in Lake Elsinore (sp?) about 50 miles away and his parents live near the park where Chelsea was found? So he works near his parents' house or was something misstated on her show?

These cases are really getting to me. I don't think any case ever bother me as much as Shaniya Davis (it was really intense), but Chelsea has hit hard. I am so effing sick of this crap. Hanging out on this forum exposes you to a level of evil that most folks either don't know exists or turn their backs to. I'm just grateful that there are others - all of you - that are willing to go to that place, to be willing to know 'what's out there'. It's the only way it will stop! If people keep pushing it under the rug, then it will stay there.

Earlier, on another thread, someone mentioned JonBenet and someone else replied, "They've never heard of JonBenet". I totally agree: while we live/breathe these cases, most people aren't interested at all. It's a story on the news (if that) and then it's gone.

no panthera - his listed address was Lake Elsinor but it seems he "hung out" at his parents house more. At least that's what I understand.
