Cheryl Marie McBee, 42, of Whitmore was reported missing Monday morning and remains missing after her car was located, unoccupied in a small creek in the Whitmore area. McBee was last seen Sunday in her car at the Whitmore General Store around 12:30 p.m. and has not been heard from since.

McBee is described as a white, female adult, 42-years-old, five feet two inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown eyes and shoulder length brown hair. She was last seen wearing a dark-colored shirt, blue jeans and tan shoes.

Her mother stated she may have been experiencing mental health. The creek where her unoccupied jeep was found was described as "small" so I do not think she drowned but likely left on foot. Foul play not suspected in disappearance of 42-year-old Whitmore woman

They don’t think foul play is suspected. How can they know that? This statement in the newspaper article is worrisome and puzzling:

“Bosenko said pieces of McBee's clothing have been found at different points throughout the search, but he wouldn't say what those were.“

Pieces of clothing scattered?! That’s really odd. I hope they find her soon.

When a person starts to become hypothermic, they shed clothing. This may be due to a cold-induced malfunction of the hypothalmus, the part of the brain that regulates body temperature and/or muscles contracting peripheral blood vessels becoming exhausted (otherwise known as vasomotor tone) wherein they relax, leading to a sudden surge of blood (and heat) to the extremities, causing the person to feel overheated. If she was out in the elements, and especially if they had gotten wet when her car went into the creek, she could be at risk for freezing.

Looks like search hasn't found anything: Searchers Return To Whitmore In Hopes Of Locating Missing Woman

The family of 42-year-old Cheryl Marie McBee and the community of Whitmore have not given up hope of finding her. McBee was reported missing on Monday of last week by her mother, Char Novack. She had last seen her the day before in her Jeep Liberty at the Whitmore General Store. Apparently nobody has heard from her since then. Novack says it’s out of character for her daughter to vanish like this. Last Monday afternoon McBee’s unoccupied Jeep was found in a small creek in the Whitmore area. The Shasta County Search and Rescue Teams had suspended much of the effort until some new items were located by horseback riders on Wednesday. That brought the search and rescue teams back Thursday on horses, dirtbikes and ATV’s. Dogs are in use as well. Cheryl McBee is a 42-year-old white woman, 5-foot-2 and 150 pounds with brown eyes and shoulder length brown hair. She was wearing a dark colored shirt and blue jeans.
