January 11, 2007 Mario Garcia sentenced to 59 years to life - one day after what would have been Christie's 29th birthday. Interesting that Christie's birthday was 1/10, Garcia sentenced on 1/11, Garcia's assault on previous victim on 1/12 - how interesting the sentencing date fell between the date Christie was murdered and the date Garcia kidnapped and raped a previous victim. Is there a God - indeed there is !!

Currently Mario Garcia remains incarcerated at Deaul Prison in Tracy, California (Inmate: F-56691). Mario claims he's fearful for his life and is currently in Protective Custody. Given the overcrowding of jails, no date has been set for his transport to his permanent prison location; we're hearing Kern.

AUBURN, CA -- Less than ten days after hearing the case, a state appeals court has upheld the 2005 murder conviction of Mario Garcia in the killing of a 27-year-old woman who was last seen leaving a Placer County tribal casino.

The 3rd District Court of Appeal in Sacramento ruled Wednesday there were no errors in admission of the evidence against Garcia. He's now serving a 59 years-to-life sentence at High Desert State Prison in Susanville.

STATE SUPREME COURT DECLINES TO REVIEW

CASE OF CONVICTED MURDERER MARIO GARCIA

The California Supreme Court has denied a petition by convicted murderer Mario Flavio Garcia to have his trial reviewed.

Garcia filed the petition in April following a Feb. 25 decision in which the Third District Court of Appeal affirmed his conviction of first-degree murder in the 2005 slaying and disappearance of Christie Wilson following a night of drinking and gambling at the Thunder Valley Casino in Placer County.

The state Supreme Court denied the petition June 10 and also ordered that the opinion of the appeal court be a non-published one, meaning it cannot be cited as legal precedent.

From Niesha Lofing:

Thunder Valley Casino officials are angered that the casino is being sued in connection to the murder of a woman in 2005.

The wrongful death lawsuit was filed by the family of Christie Wilson, the 27-year-old Sacramento woman who was last seen leaving the Lincoln casino in October 2005 with the man later convicted of her murder. Mario Flavio Garcia is serving a sentence of 59 years to life in state prison. Wilson's body has never been found.

Bumping for Christie! I am local to the area she went missing from & I often think about what could have happened that night & where she could be. Hope she's found soon so she can rest in peace.

Nine years and no answers.

It has been nine years since the murder of Christie Wilson, and to this day, her killer won’t tell the family where he placed her body.

The 2005 murder of 27-year-old Wilson captivated many in the Auburn area and the country, as did the conviction of her killer, Mario Garcia.

Wilson was 27 years old when she was last seen in the company of Garcia, an Auburn resident and soccer coach at the time, leaving the Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln.

Mother Holding Out Hope after Remains Discovered on Folsom Lake

The receding waters of Folsom Lake are telling secrets and playing on the heartstrings of families who've lived with hurt for a very long time.
"It hurts. It brings up an awful lot of emotions," Deb Boyd said in a phone conversation with FOX40. "This one in particular, more so, than any other time, and I've been through this now a few times."

Boyd is talking about skeletal remains that were discovered Thursday on the Folsom Lake bed. The remains look to be a decade old or more, according to investigators.
It was 2005 when Boyd's daughter, Christie Wilson went missing. A man named Mario Garcia was found guilty of murder in her disappearance, but Wilson's body was never recovered.

Killers who decide to torment their victim’s families by withholding the location of their victim’s body are truly some of the worst of the worst. I hope some day Christie’s body is found, with or without her killer’s help. Her family deserves to have their daughter’s remains. Bumping for Christie.

I'm Australian, so not at all familiar with the area.

But was there ever a search where Mario Garcia used to live? Fremont, Cali. Google Maps shows a few wooded areas; Kilkare Woods being one. There are also regional parks; Sunol, Pleasanton, Garin.

AUBURN, Calif. —

Investigators made a breakthrough in a 2005 cold case after the skeletal remains of a murder victim were found at a residence in Auburn, officials said Monday.

Mario Garcia was found guilty of first-degree murder in the October 2005 killing of 27-year-old Christie Lynn Wilson, but her body was never found. The Placer County Sheriff's Office said that changed last week after a four-day search led to finding Wilson's remains at the former Auburn residence of her killer.

Placer Sheriff: Murder victim Christie Wilson’s remains found after 15 years

Placer County investigators say they found Wilson’s body on a 4.5-acre piece of land Garcia owned at the time of Wilson’s death. That Auburn property was searched in 2005 with cadaver dogs but nothing was found.

This time around, they used ground-penetrating radar.

However, investigators admitted they got a tip that gave them a better idea of where exactly to search. They have been vague with those details.

“We’re not going to be discussing where that information came at this time,” Lt. Scott said.

Officials said they were able to locate Wilson’s remains using new technology from ground-penetrating radar, as well as some guidance from someone they would not identify.

But they were adamant that they never received any help from Mario Flavio Garcia — the last person she was seen with and the man convicted in her murder.

Garcia is a “convicted murderer who refused to cooperate, who would not supply any information to contribute to closure for the family,” Bell said. “He is exactly where he needs to be — in prison.”

I’m so glad. Heart-wrenching for her family, but the best thing that could possibly happen, after all these years.

So, he brought her body to his home that night. Maybe he told the truth when he said that he got home at 2:00 am. And he buried her on his 4.5 acres. And his wife never suspected a thing?
