The family of a Plumas County is still waiting for answers seven months after his disappearance.

Action News Now spoke with the mother of Dominic Potts, who hopes that someone out there knows where her son is.

For seven months, Sesha Putnam has not seen or heard from her 21-year-old son.

"We haven't had any answers since November," she said.

Potts, who is the oldest of five siblings, was last seen on Nov. 5, 2018, at his workplace Dig it Construction in Chester.

Days later, his truck and cellphone were found abandoned near Lake Almanor.

"We don't know if there's foul play, if this could be a kidnapping, a homicide," she said. "He could have run away, we don't know!"

Potts' disappearance is the second disturbing case to fall upon the Putnam family in the past year.

Pott's great-grandmother, Greta Putnam, was found stabbed to death in her home just days after he disappeared.

Oroville police now have a murder suspect in custody.

Plumas County investigators did not immediately respond with a comment on the progress of the missing persons case.

Sesha Putnam said she hopes anyone with information on the case will come forward.

"Just keep your eyes open," she said. "If anyone has any information of what led up to his truck being out there because we have no idea."

There is a $5,000 reward for information leading to Potts' whereabouts.

[His mother, Sesha Putnam, also said the area where his truck was found has been searched by citizens on foot, local Search and Rescue, and with ATV’s and an airplane.]

Is it not too coincidental that his great grandmother, God rest her soul, was stabbed to death two days after he disappeared?

I'm not sure which way to go with this. Did he plan to kill his great grandmother and bolt after he did it, or was this a message to someone in the family- one murdered, one missing? Or did the person who may have harmed Dominic also kill his poor great grandmother?

Three different scenarios could have taken place. I just can't believe his great grandmother's murder isn't related. Just my opinion!

It isn't. The culprit was arrested, charged and has either been convicted already or is well on his way to trial. He was a homeless drug addict.

Dominic remains missing, we're covering the case at the minute and it's shockingly sad how little help the family has had from LE. I never bash LE, but even I'm frustrated by what Sesha and the other family members have told me.

Hunter finds human skull in Plumas County, sheriff's office says

"Dispatchers received the call from the hunter around 3 p.m. Monday saying they found what looked like a human skull at the sound end of First Avenue Chester near Lake Almanor, the sheriff's office said. A deputy and sergeant who responded confirmed the skull did belong to a human."

This is near where Dominic's truck was found, if I'm not mistaken.

The family is saying that the remains are Dominic's remains:

Find Dominic Potts (post about the body being identified)

The post was so sad, yet beautiful--it almost had me in tears. RIP Dominic, and I hope LE can figure out why you are gone too soon.

ETA--I did not report this to mods as "located," but if someone finds some LE/MSM confirmation, then report to mods as "located."

The family has confirmed, his NamUs profile has been removed, and now this update from the PCSO confirms that these were Dominic's remains. Rest in peace, Dominic.

On October 7, 2020 the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office was notified the remains located at the end of First Ave in Chester CA were that of Dominic Potts of Greenville CA.

How sad, it seems the family held out a lot of hope but it would be hard not to. Two family tragedies very close together can be shattering. I can't imagine how it would feel for one to be protracted over two years like that.

I have to wonder if maybe the great grandmother allowed her killer into her home on the pretense he knew something about Dominic's disappearance or maybe just as a special gesture of kindness in hopes of it cosmically helping bring him home.

I spoke to Dominic's mom when I covered his case, I also spoke to his cousin. The person convicted for his great-grandmother's mother was a homeless man. Plumas County Sheriff's department have reportedly said there is no link between the two. It's just an absolutely horrific coincidence.

Yes, I saw that but I'm speculating that his great grandmother might have been uncharacteristically charitable given the circumstances - and/or the perp may have singled her out due to her emotional state.
