I give her a pass....its incomprehensible to believe your child would kill your grandchild. I think she just went with it. For all we know, they might not have gotten along anyway. So she just didn't want to rock the boat. IMO...I don't feel like she's as innocent as she wants people to think. I don't understand why it took her 2+ weeks to sound the alarm. Something isn't adding up IMO.
Possible, but I also wonder if there were neighbors with cameras... MOOI’m kind of thinking that one or both of the twins has already confessed. LE’s statement that they believe Duke was put in a statement is pretty bold and specific. The murder charges came swiftly. MOO

You read my mind. I guess I should've spelled it out the way you did. As far as I know Grandma did not live with them.I can't speak for (or won't try to at least) her culpability. I believe the MSM links provided earlier said that she had been calling and asking to speak with the child for some time and that the mother kept saying he was asleep.
Here's some questions ---
1)Duke, his mom and his aunt did not live with the grandmother, correct?
2)How far distance-wise was the grandmother's house from where Duke resided? If she had been calling for a week and kept getting that "he's asleep" excuse, but she lived right around the block then there's certainly no excuse whatsoever for her not walking over there to try and get an idea as to what the heck was going on. I'm just not ready to cast her in a villain light with the information made available to this point.
Hmmm, I wonder who gave them a tip?Detectives were led to the landfill Monday after getting a tip that Duke was placed in a dumpster, officials said in a news release.
Searchers Comb Victorville Landfill for Body of Missing Boy as Mother and Aunt Charged
I understand that. Firstly, I hadn't read far enough into the thread to see the outcome. Secondly, I didn't think it was that outlandish for a child to be in his front yard at 10pm at night and that was the point I was making. It had nothing to do with the specifics of this case.
My friend's daughter let her 3 year old stay up until 11...then complained because he was so whiny....omgI gotcha.
I still think 10 pm on a school night for a 6 yr old is pretty late. Especially to be outside ALONE at 10 pm , being only 6 yrs old. JMO

The McStay family was buried near the Victorville landfill.
I'm the Site Manager at a landfill in California. The good thing is they have narrowed it down to a pretty small search area. Sounds like they know which truck and what day the waste was delivered. If sweet little Duke is there, they will find him. Are any reporters on Twitter at the Landfill entrance?
When a six year old child is in a home with two adults, it is hard for me to think of a single situation in which his death is not in part due to their actions or inaction. They are responsible for supervision to keep him and the other children safe. Even if he acted out against another child, it doesn't excuse the adults. To follow this with trying to conceal his death with putting him in a dumpster doesn't look like a panic reaction to me, it looks like trying not to get caught.
