Bumping for Bear, missing five years today. That is a sizable reward sum now, so I hope it may generate information. My sense is he was a robbery victim and killed so as to not be a witness. Prayers for his loved ones that answers will be forthcoming.

Elijah "Bear" Diaz August 29, 2020 marks 5 years missing!
August 29, 2020 - Bear has been gone now 5 years. 5 years is so hard to believe that this day has arrived.
Family and friends are no closer today of knowing what happened to Bear, then that day 5 years ago when he was discovered missing.
Not a clue to those questions we all have:
-WHO took him from his home in El Cajon, San Diego County, California?
-WHY did they take him?
-WHERE did they put his body?
-WHAT was their ultimate goal in committing this evilness?
-WHEN are these people who committed this act or those who know who did this ever gonna decide to do the right thing and bring the information to the police.

Even tho there has been two television shows that have mentioned of the disappearance
of Bear (both of which are still constantly being aired on the ID Investigation Discovery Channel all over the world), they have not generated any information for investigators to get anywhere on this case.

Even tho there is a $50,000 reward offered still no leads.

Bear is Native American. His mother LeLanie Thompson is Native American. They have their tribal beliefs. Their heritage.
LeLanie would like to bury her son according to her heritage and beliefs. Without Bear's body she cannot even place a headstone, plaque, or marker to represent Bear in their little cemetery.

LeLanie prays that one day she will have Bears body to give him his birth right burial.

As a friend of LeLanie this has been the hardest experience I have ever gone thru or watch someone go thru.

Thank you all for thinking of Bear and keeping him and his family in your prayers and hearts.

As you know there is a young man named Skylar Peterson Tosic who went missing from Escondido, San Diego County, California the day after Bear went missing.

Just to update you Skylar is still missing as well.

Skylar's mother Olivia and LeLanie have started making masks for the missing.
If you have someone missing and would like to create masks for them or would you like to order a mask with Bear's or Skylar's information please visit www.featherbearskye.com and LeLanie will be happy to help you with your needs.

Bumping for Bear!
I was thinking about this case recently...

I know there are reports of his cell phone activity throughout the night he went missing, however, I don't think I have seen a comprehensive timeline and path he (presumably) took, is there one out there?

Is there a way to do something similar to what they did with the Matthew Weaver case with the high-resolution photos and drone footage of the area where Bear was last known to be and the surrounding area?

Because of the location I wanted to post this, though I don't know if there's much likelihood it'll be relevant, being east county and it being referenced as bones makes me think it's someone that's been dead for some time and Elijah came to mind when also considering proximity.

San Diego Sheriff’s Office says human remains were reported off a trail in Santee. Homicide investigators just got here. I just spoke with the two people who found the remains - they say it was a pile of bones and a skull far off trail

ETA:

More on the find of the remains, again, just in case:

Just after 4 p.m., authorities were tipped off by two hikers who spotted what appeared to be scattered bones and a skull while they were off trail looking for snakes. The remains were located with the help of the department’s ASTREA helicopter by deputies in the area of Summit Crest Drive.

Too early to tell if male or female or how long they've been there.

Human remains found near East County hiking trail | FOX 5 San Diego

Approximately 7 miles from the El Cajon address. Google Maps

any update on this? I tried searching but didn’t find much at all except for the initial news when the remains were found.

I really wouldn't rule out a connection between this and Skylar Peterson Tosic's disappearances. Both of them are the same age, disappeared at the same time, lived 30 mins from each other, and Skylar said he was hanging out with someone called "Eli" leading up to his disappearance? Maybe it's one of those uncanny coincidences but seems a little too convenient for my liking.

Perhaps both of them were taken advantage of by "Thaddeus"?

This case really bugs me. IMO, part of me thinks Skylar had a mental breakdown and left on his own and Bear was killed my his roommates. But there are too many similarities. Was there a Thaddeus who lured them into a cult or human smuggling ring. So many theories.

Medical conditions and details of disappearance updated, 11/15/21 -

Elijah Runningbear Diaz – The Charley Project

  • Medical Conditions - Diaz has Type 1 diabetes and is insulin-dependent. Due to diabetic neuropathy, he had serious wounds on his foot at the time of his disappearance. He required daily bandage changes and was using crutches to walk.
AND

He was in poor health at the time of his disappearance due to his diabetes: he was underweight, weak and dealing with wounds on his foot from neuropathy. His mother had to drive him places. As his mobility was limited, his family believes someone took him from his apartment and harmed him. His case remains unsolved.

-Recently saw the Disappeared episode featuring the BD case. Very heart-wrenching. It was extremely sad to see that BD was living with some very serious chronic illnesses, especially given that he was so young.

My theory is that someone robbed BD of his money & TV (both the money in the safe & the big TV were missing), forced BD from the house, and then he met with foul play - so he couldn't tell anyone what happened. The episode made a point of noting that BD had a lot of friends/parties at his house, and that he did live well - due to getting $ from the local casino, etc. Unfortunately, it seems like his financial status attracted the wrong type of attention. I.e., it makes sense that either someone he knew - or someone that knew about him - committed this crime. The crime could have been committed by someone he didn't even know well, or at all - given the foot traffic in & out of the house/all of the people coming & going at all hours, etc.

Since BD didn't seem to be able to drive & couldn't easily get around (due to this illness), it's not feasible that he left the house on his own and/or lifted the large TV by himself, etc.

-Also mentioned in the episode was the coincidental ST missing persons case from around the same time & in the same general area. There is no dedicated thread on this case (that I could find) on this site. I agree (re: the episode) that the two cases are probably not connected. And, there is not much to go on in this ST case either. I.e., he was last seen in the mountains/hills of the area, and had last texted his mother that he was going to get a passport & leave the country with some people he didn't know well?! This sounds very suspicious & disturbing.

It's unfortunate that neither case has been solved/resolved. Hopefully both cases will be closed at some point, and bring closure to both families.

ETA - it was immediately a red flag to me when Bear's childhood friend was talking about Bear's generosity towards his friends and acquaintances. I think it can make one vulnerable to be so open about their money. I'm not blaming Bear AT ALL. I just think some of these kids were sketchy, and taking advantage of him. Heartbreaking.

Exactly. The problem is that there will always be unscrupulous people out there that will take advantage of someone's generosity - especially financial generosity. I also believe that BD - being disabled - was probably thought of as someone that would be easy to rob, etc. Very sad.

Does Skylar not have his own thread on WS? Did a quick search and couldn't find one.

Anyway, there were two members belonging to the "Rainbow Family" cult called Thaddeus & Eli. I mean, what are the odds that Skylar was curious about religious ideology and mentions those two specific names? I don't know if it's been proven that the Rainbow Family were in the California area, but as a transient group, there's no reason they couldn't have passed through.

This now leads me to suspect Bear and Skylar's cases are not connected. I had originally thought that Bear could've been the "Eli" that Skylar referred to, but I lean more towards Bear being robbed and killed. There were no signs of a struggle or foul play in the bedroom, but everything of value was gone. It would be weird for a robber to take the bag of insulin and the crutches, unless they were deliberate red herrings.
