I'm not local, but this one has me VERY concerned.

Have a look and let me know what y'all think. If it's worth mapping, PLT please do!

Assuming there is game hunting in the area, it may be refuse from a hunter's kill.

One day last summer when I was out tending Whitney Heichel's memorial garden, I found a white kitchen garbage bag full of bones in the immediate vicinity. I called the local Oregon State Police officer who had previously left his business cards for me and Websleuther Sasquatch, my garden partner. This particular officer is responsible for investigating elk poaching in the area. I took pictures and emailed them to him and he emailed back to say that what it looked like to him was hunters' refuse. What happens is someone will kill a deer or elk, butcher it up for the meat, and then often doesn't want to put the unused parts like bones & entrails into their garbage cans. So they will take it out to vacant lots etc. and dump it. He went and looked at it the next day and then let me know that it was indeed refuse from a hunter's kill.

So while this report on page 24 might be promising, I'm not putting too much stock into it just yet.

Glad they are still searching for Baby Ember!

Where are the water towers?

The water towers are out in Happy Valley about 4 minutes from the Happy Stop Market. Where MG said he made a U Turn and went back home while he was out driving the baby around because she was "fussy"

Good grief. Remind me not to live up there in Ono, ever. Scary.

Do you think the reporting party meant "backpack" with bone in it?

Not sure if this has been answered, but I think the typo was back for bags. "Bags" is used in the last sentence.

I am still wondering why he would take one of the bags and one of the bones with him. That could be a crime scene and he took some of the evidence home?

I've made it back to the 5th. Same thing. No mention of the pacifier. I did find a few other calls that are pertinent. BRB with the links & page #s

Here is a map of a few of the items we wrote about. I think the one with the woman crying is a bit far....but the entry you noted (foul smell) is in the same general area. ember.jpg

ETA: I guess my notes did not carry over to the map. The lower pins represent MG's Trailer (furthest right), Gas Station (middle), Report of smell (far left). Upper Pin - woman crying on side of road on 7/3 (probably not related) but is 35 mins from gas station.

wow, i wonder if they will release finding a blanket. maybe it isnt hers? i hope they find this little girl soon :(

It's very likely Ember's blanket. In the video of the eleven minute ride I saw a lot of dumpsters , and trash carts sitting by the road. When was trash day up there?

That's why my cockles went up at first. But I figured .. "nah" because surely they investigated and dismissed it. Right?

The water towers at one point was the meeting place for the searchers. I believe that area by the water towers has been thoroughly searched.

I hope the search teams are large enough to cover the immediate area near the pacifier - I think that is the prime area.

I'm guessing this is why LE tries to keep volunteers out of search areas when they think they have it narrowed down. I'm sure some of it has to do with not wanting a family member to come across their loved one's remains due to the trauma of it, but also well-meaning people unintentionally messing with possible evidence or crime scenes.

Yes. It is a lot of area to cover. Here is a video to give non locals an idea of what the searchers are dealing with out near the approximate area where the pacifier was found.
