My interest has been piqued, because I grew up in Joshua Tree and worked on the Marine Corps base. Something about a young pregnant woman heading out to the Joshua Tree Park at 7 in the morning doesn't seem quite right to me. While I have been alone to the National Park (my parents live within walking distance), if I wasn't from the area, I can't imagine going there alone. Either she was dishonest to her husband about where she really was going or something else, but I really hope that the truth comes out about this soon!

I agree with you MissM31. What the husband is telling LE is being dissected by a lot of people as not being a very good lie. BUT we have to remember he is supposedly repeating what he was told by his wife. So maybe the story she told him is the part that is unbelievable. Maybe leaving at 7 am to go to JTNP to find something for her and her mom to do next week was the best idea she could come up with to explain why she might be out of the house all day at the time. Maybe it was a spur of the moment decision to be gone all day that Saturday. And he may have been working that day and night and was busy and hoping she had been telling him the truth--we dont know yet. There is a reason why LE is not asking the public for very much help and why thy are not releasing any details. They may have 2 POI and have to decide which one makes the better suspect. And they only way to do that is to keep investigating and let the details tell the tale. Most likely the young husband is not criminally sophisticated enough to fool seasoned investigators for very long so he most likely is not the target of the investigation as this point in time. The $1 million dollar question is who would make a good second?

I just read on another site the EC has a bf that is another married marine and that he is the father of her baby not her husband. Has anybody else heard this and can I post the article?

It's been posted here a few times and potentially deleted a few times - I've honestly lost track. But if you have a good MSM source and want to post it I bet lots of us would appreciate it, especially anything with a link.

Can anyone put a name to this supposed BF yet?

If this isn't okay, please delete. Not trying to get rumors started just want to help bring EC home.

BREAKING NEWS IN CASE OF MISSING TWENTYNINE PALMS WOMAN

By Z107.7 News, on July 11th, 2014

Z107.7 News has learned that investigators have developed key information in the case of the wife of a Twentynine Palms Marine who was reported missing Sunday morning, June 29. A source close to the Sheriff’s investigation revealed that Corwin, who is three months pregnant, had apparently been having an affair with another married Marine and investigators believe that pregnancy was from her lover, not her husband. The source noted that investigators have interviewed all the parties involved and said while their stories have checked out, the other Marine’s story is full of contradictions, and they do not believe they will find Erin Corwin alive. Saturday morning, June 28, Erin Corwin, 19, told her husband she was going to scout locations in Joshua Tree National Park in preparation for her mother’s visit. When she did not return, Corporal Jonathon Corwin reported her missing to the County Sheriff’s Department. Her car was found the next day by a Twentynine Palms Water District employee at Valle Vista and Ranch Road, according to KFMB-TV in San Diego. Sheriff’s Captain Dale Mondary said in interviews with other media that detectives and search-and-rescue personnel have narrowed their search to a few specific areas in the Morongo Basin, but would not say where. In the meantime, the families of Erin and Jonathan Corwin, from Tennessee, have set up a fund-raising website to help the family with expenses, and for a reward for information about her whereabouts. Anyone who has any information about Erin Corwin, whose 20th birthday is Tuesday, is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175. The link to the family’s ******** website can be found with this story on z1077fm.com.

Usually LE stops searching at some point. I think they say they will begin again if they receive new tips. I don't think there will be any new tips on Erin, unless the actual perp gives it up. I wonder if they will stop searching. I hate to even think that because they seem so adamant that she's there.

I think it is interesting - that with the big push of the freedom of info the press is still so omnipotent that it cannot lay bare the names of people surrounding this missings person case. I would have thought that these small sleuthing details would be divulged to maintain the freedom of press despite the proceeds of an investigation. (Can anyone tell me how come this is not the case?)

that article has been out and discussed at length for over 4 days now.you may want to go back over the last 100 posts or so and educate your self on what we have been discussing and join in with your thoughts.

Do we have any evidence of either of these pregnancies and the miscarriage, other than information provided by people Erin had told this to? Do we know if she had been to an obstetrician? I mean no disrespect, but those around her seem a little confused about the whole thing (dates, etc.), and claiming to learn of a pregnancy on Father's day (a Sunday, so it must have been from an at-home pregnancy test) is certain to draw extra emotion from her husband.

It's been reported that she had an upcoming Dr's appointment.

I dont think "she's less than 2 months pregnant" and "Investigators now say Corwin is three months pregnant" sounds like a typo. sounds like an adjustment they made based on new information gained through their investigation. Could be Erin told a friend exactly how pregnant she was.

She at least is 2 months. A doctor will rarely see you before 8 weeks, and with military doctors, it's more around 10 to 12 weeks. So, if she had an appointment in a week, she was between 2 to 3 months along

Could the family have discovered the date the appointment was made, thus realizing she was further along than they thought?

I know anything health related is meant to be private...but last week, my husband's doctor 's office called me three times when they could not reach my husband and went into great detail about some of his health issues...I was a little surprised and my husband was really upset. What if I had not been aware of the issues he was seeking care for? Anyway, it does happen. Jmo

Well, that would explain why the car wasn't "found" until Monday. Jeesh, that means she could be anywhere. If you figure on the car being gone up to 48 hours.

Interesting point, cluciano63. I was thinking about the scenario of, among other possibilities -- her husband knows about the affair and might leave her, so she announces on Father's day, "I'm pregnant with your baby, don't leave me." Highly unlikely but one possibility. I mention it because, if true, it could relate to her disappearing on her own due to feeling she had created a situation she couldn't undo.

Confused...what would explain the car not being found sooner?

I just can't imagine where she would go. While she probably could have ditched her car to make it appear she was abducted, where on earth would she go? I wish I could believe she chose to leave, but it does not sound likely to me. LE is generally so quick to say "no signs of foul play" even when it appears obvious to many...yet this time they are saying the opposite, that foul play is likely. I think they must have evidence.
