Stewart lost his memory after 3 or 4 beers? Really? I haven't had a beer in years. Is that equivalent to about a bottle of wine? I'd be trashed as an occasional drinker, but blackout? I don't think so.

And he woke up "feeling bad." Who are these low-lifes?? Seriously.

And I can't read those details about the girls' bodies again. I don't know how the Tsarnas family manages to sit through these hearings without going postal.

Another thing, does Marci have other minor children?? Please say no!

Prior to asking him to drive into the basketball hoop, Marci reportedly told her son to get rid of a 7-pound bag of untrimmed marijuana that was in the back of the Jeep. He did that, tossing it over a fence.
Shortly afterward Marci’s boyfriend Josh Pearlston drove up and asked where Kiya and Faith were. That’s when it dawned on Jevin that they might be the two girls who had been run over. He had seen the two 14-year-olds leaving the house about sundown, giggling and carrying longboards.
Jevin and his friend David Reed jumped in Reed’s truck and headed to the accident scene. “Faith had been rolled over on her back,” he recalled. “She was lying in the middle of the road dead.”

I bet the judge is seething mad and is past ready to say there is plenty of evidence for a trial :mad:

Adams said that the speed limit on the road was not posted and by state law the limit would have been subject to a maximum speed of 55 mph.

He said today the girls were violating government codes because they’d been walking on a part of the road not designated for pedestrians. A postmortem report on the girls revealed the teens had some amount of THC in their blood when they died.

Jevin quoted Stewart telling him at the house, minutes after the crash and moments before Jevin rushed to Eel River Road only a mile away in a friend’s car, that Marci had slammed into two girls in bikinis. (Faith Tsarnas was wearing a T-shirt and shorts, Kiya Kitchen a T-shirt and grey sweatpants.)
Actually, Jevin stated, Stewart referred to the 14-year-olds as “two hoochies.”

Skimpy coverage on KIEM Channel 3....

[MK's friend William Trent] Stewart said he woke up on the couch the next day feeling bad. Kitchen called and told him the kids were dead from the collision and it was being ruled an accident. He said given that it was an accident he didn't think it was necessary to talk to law enforcement.

It's really sad to me that at 14 they had THC in their systems. I would not blame parents in every situation, but in this one, absolutely blaming Marci! She had kids with several POUNDS of mj in her house, and IMO, was high and drunk often. This was not a home for children.

AND there's a special place in hell for someone who commits vehicular manslaughter while drunk, and then tries to throw her own son under the bus by asking him to wreck the car to cover for her!!

I'm not caught up yet but was planning on posting the exact same thing. I know we all know people like this exist but when yet another one is exposed I tend to feel nauseated all over again.
 
I recall reading about this when it happened and I had to stop. There are sometimes things I read, that my soul never seems to heal from. The saddness is crushing...unbearable and I have to step away to save my sanity. Those are usually cases like this one where it feels like there is no possible way for any justice...

I wish there was no such thing as drugs & booze!. :( ( I know, I know...) and crappy, killer parents...

I know so many people who causally drink... and I find myself looking at them a little sideways now...It's not like I've never "enjoyed an adult beverage" in my life, but I do seem to admire those who don't drink at all, more.

Why can't life be 'enjoyed' without substances to (supposedly) enhance it?

Must it really always be "five o clock somewhere"?

Just thinking about stuff I guess....This case is excruciating. :(

A bit of JK testimony:


During redirect, Jevin Kitchen said, "I was nervous. I was told not to say anything. I was still trying to figure out what to do. Still trying to deal with the loss of my sister. When I gave the statement (July 17) I tried to be as truthful" telling as much he could recall.

"I believe a little bit of me was still trying to protect my mom. Don't want her to leave. What is done is done. What is right needs to be done. This is right.

I'm heartbroken for him!!

Mr. Okin tried his best to quote selectively from transcripts and chose quotes to spin towards making Marci Kitchen look sympathetic and take advantage of Jevin's youth and first time testifying and failed. Marci Kitchen threw her own son, Jevin under the bus and whispering away to Mr. Okin about a Ford Expedition incident during recross.

Not only did it end up being completely irrelevant; it was a cheap, desperate psychological ploy; her information proved to have inaccuracies when Jevin responded. The irony she did this to her son to try and discredit his statement that the side yard was never used to park vehicles, she failed.

Mr. Okin was quite rude, at times cutting off Jevin Kitchen when he tried to answer.

Chiv says Pearlston will testify this afternoon. Can't wait to contrast his testimony with Stewarts. Will he cover for MK too?
