I am Cyndy Rash. And you don’t have your facts right. My mom did not work at Wells Junior High. She was the librarian at Fallon Elementary school. She was not shot, she was stabbed with a butcher knife from our kitchen. The assailant did call, but I did not tell him to come to our home. He entered our home without my brother and I admitting him. Our feet and hands were tied, but after numerous attempts, I was able to free my feet and run to escape. My mother was alive when the police came, but died early the next day. I never entered any contest at Gemco. But I do believe that the murderer was a pharmacist who worked across the road from Gemco. And I do believe that he was involved and prosecuted in similar crimes in Southern Californian.
I have never been able to return to CA...
Welcome Cyndy. thank you for clearing up misinformation.

Welcome Cyndy. thank you for clearing up all the misinformation.. I’m sorry that you went through that. I apologize for the mistakes.I find it very interesting that you never even entered the Gemco raffle. The pharmacy you’re talking about, would that be what used to be Payless behind gemco.

So very sorry for this trauma you sustained at such a tender age, Cyndy. I cannot even begin to imagine how scary this was for you and how much it has affected your life. I truly hope and pray that you and your siblings will see this man be put away for good.

Cyndy! I can not tell how many times you and your family have crossed my mind over the years! (I was Debbie Ruiz' best friend) I'll never forget that day when Julie told us what had happened and my heart and prayers have been with you since! I pray you are well and thriving! - Kris

Oh, my gosh, this is horrible. :( I'm going to go with the early news clippings that say she was stabbed, not shot.

The man gave his name as "Harvey." He bound her, slashed her throat and stabbed her repeatedly with a kitchen knife. Was the knife used by "Harvey" from the home or did he bring it with him?

Do we know the address of the Gemco store?

"He arrived 10 minutes later." "He escaped running east on Tory Way."

MOO
The old Gemco store was located at 7200 Amador Plaza Road. I went to middle school with her son Eric. It was a very tragic event for the entire community. We were still on Winter break if I remember correctly. Not sure if the address for the old Gemco is helpful but I saw your question on where it was located. The distance from the Old Gemco store to Tory Way was about 1.3 miles according to Google Maps.

Do you mean Amador Valley Road?

Some questions:
- Could the call from the killer be traced?
- Did the killer had access to the raffle participants? Can he be related to the store? Cyndy says he never entered any contest at Gemco. Then, who did the call to the families that had entered a contest (including a female voice)?
Cyndy says that she has a suspect, the pharmacist. Can she tell more about him? Something may have signaled him as a suspect.

''Ramm's death, which remains unsolved, is ACSO case No. 86-19177.

Four days later, ACSO remembered the 45th anniversary of the brutal murder of Frances Rash inside her Tory Way house in Dublin -- which was unincorporated at the time.

The 40-year-old woman had returned home unexpectedly around 9:25 a.m. on Jan. 2, 1979 to find a gun-wielding intruder inside who had already tied up her two children on the floor, authorities said.''

"Frances was taken to a bedroom, where she was killed. Her children freed themselves, left the residence and had a nearby neighbor call 911," ACSO officials stated. "Before this happened, one of the children received two phone calls from a man claiming to be associated with Gemco, who told them they were winners of a recent drawing."

Investigators have a sketch of the suspect. He was described at the time as an Asian man 26-30 years old at 150-160 pounds with "shoulder-length hair, slightly tinted metal frame glasses, wearing an orange down jacket with a zipper, dark pants, carrying a brown attache case." The Rash murder is case No. 79-0054.''
