Found more stuff! Grandparents (Pearls' parents) are filing a lawsuit against several agencies, and one is the school district! Why? Gabriels' teacher called many times, trying to get someone to help!

And heres' a real doozy....an investigator with the agency had been called out to the home to see if there was any abuse/neglect happening with the children.
Apparently he was so concerned about the children, he called Pearl the next day asking for a date

:stormingmad: I sure hope he was one of the workers fired. And by the way Tonya, I agree with everything you posted ^ 3 posts up. Don't you think it's strange we were posting at the same time????

That is such great news! At least something good will come of this, a place where kids can go have fun, study music and dance, or just hang out with people they feel safe with!

Thank you Labor, for posting this. I needed a pick-me-up tonight! After following Elaina, Cherish and Willow (rest in peace, sweethearts), and taking care of my terminally-ill aunt, reading your post was the bright spot of my day!
:tyou:

I'm glad it brightened your day. I'm so glad Gabriel will be remembered in the positive light. I agree.....some threads have been very difficult to read lately.

I know, right? Great minds think alike :)
I haven't been on much lately, but tonight I wanted to check on Gabriel, see if any justice is coming his way.
When I read about the investigator asking that womb-bearer for a date, I thought the exact same thing.

Next court date Oct. 7th. I hope it doesn't get postponed again! I pray justice will be SWIFT and SEVERE!

I am a social worker and work in the school system. I have child protection services' phone number on my speed dial. I don't hesitate to call when I suspect anything. After the call, I follow up with a written document that is sent to the state. The good thing about being a mandated reporter, at least in my state, is that CPS sends you a follow up letter letting you know whether or not the case is being picked up for investigation. However, I am not allowed any information after that. If the child remains in our school system, I can kind of find out what's going on. If they leave, I don't know if it's bc they were taken from the parents or if the parents moved so they wouldn't be "harrassed" by all of us "do gooders."

I'm sorry but some people should be spayed or neutered. I am a total believer in sterialization. Hell, I would even pay for some people to get fixed.

Thank you for the work you do Spurser. It can't be easy.

Same here! And it's amazing how many stories we read where the mother is finally arrested after years of abuse, lo and behold, she's pregnant AGAIN!
My itty-bitty mind just can't wrap itself around what it takes for a mother to just stand back and watch some man, (father or not) brutally beat your child. And what the most recent news reports aren't saying is that he also raped Gabriel. I guess they don't want to offend peoples' sensibilities  Everything about this case offends mine, but it doesn't mean that they should just omit certain details.
:sorry: I kinda get on my soapbox sometimes :blushing:
And thank you for everything you do. You are one the ones who truly does make a difference!

Can I just say that my dream is that instead of the government selling lotto tickets to make some person a gazzilionaire... is that the government would sell lotto tickets to win a chance to take a swing with a blunt object at inhumane creatures such as this. I'd be buying tickets by the truckload. I have no words for the anguish I feel when I read stories like this.
I just can't fathom the type of evil that could subject violence upon a child. It is beyond my human comprehension.

I agree 100%; you are definitely onto something here. Children should be protected at all costs; Loved, PROTECTED, loved.

And not only watch, but to participate as well. I will NEVER understand.

I don't know why I read stories like this, it always makes me cry :( RIP gorgeous Gabriel, you are finally free from the pain and those nasty people that hurt you, hope they rot in hell for what they did to you.

Stories like this one are becoming so very common. What is wrong with all these people. Any of these angels could have been given up for adoption and placed in the home of somebody begging to have a child. It seems to me as if we are hearing more and more of them since CA walked free. I hope at the very least they get sentenced to life without parole........we need much harsher laws......and in cases where CPS failed.....I think those workers should be charged as accessories after the fact......maybe then they would do some follow up on these cases and be a little quicker pulling a child out of a bad situation.

rest peacefully Gabriel

you didn't deserve any of it

~tears~

There's a good video at this link.

http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/l...en-DCFS-Adoption-Foster-Family-212412131.html

The head of Los Angeles’ child welfare services admitted Thursday that his social workers made a mistake in the handling of a Palmdale case in which an 8-year-old boy was killed.

"This is something that should have never happened," Phillip Browning told NBC4. "It keeps me up at night."

Some 35,000 kids are under the care of the county and the agency says it needs more foster families to keep kids in safe, reliable homes.

The enormity of the need for foster homes seems impossible to fill. This breaks my heart

BBM. Because a child = welfare $. That's how these "people" support themselves. More kids = more money. If you have a child that has problems (mental or physical) you get even more money. Have you ever heard of a "crazy check"? Can you imagine wanting your kid to have problems so you can get more money? UGGGG:banghead:
