New to following this and working on a timeline to try up to speed.

JW told Nancy Grace that HP’s computer hasn't been found, but I thought originally he said LE found it during the welfare check?

ETA NBC report Mystery surrounds disappearance of Los Angeles mother after leaving son’s football game last month

If that is what he told Nancy Grace, that is completely opposite what he has said to other outlets, namely the US Sun and Daily Mail. I didn't realize that NG was still around, but she used to stay about three days behind everyone in WS with her "Bombshell tonight"s. JMO

Living in FL this is usually the case with a missing person and vehicle. I was thinking the same thing. In a local accident the dog survived the crash, was spotted and took off. They searched for weeks. Came up empty handed. Dog was spotted on multiple occasions. Dogs can get quite far from the accident scene. moo
IMO there’s just nowhere near where the dog was found (only hours after she was last seen) that a car could be wrecked and concealed for so long. DTLA has a sizeable homeless population on the outskirts (anywhere you’d find a bit of empty dry brush) and city center. The car would have been found.

If Heidi was possibly lured to the SEC for a fake meeting and nefarious purposes after leaving the the football game, would she take her dog? After thinking about it more it doesn't seem like a reasonable thing to take a dog to an important meeting. MOO

I take my dogs a lot of places, if it's not blazing hot outside they wait in the car. If it wasn't going to be long, I see that as plausible.

I have thought about this too. This area is really really urban. There IS a river running near downtown. It looks very industrial and I believe it’s contained in concrete. It’s basically dry most of the year I think? Kinda hard to describe. IMO a car couldn’t be sunk and concealed. The train tracks run right next to it to toward Union Station from the south, so it gets a lot of eyes.
Is it a flood control channel? Seems like that would be pretty easy to spot a vehicle in?

In this area though, the only options for parking are large underground lots (usually multiple levels with elevators, etc.) or private parking lots. There is metered street parking too but the streets are pretty exposed and she drives a pretty nice car. I just can’t imagine her leaving the dog in a nice car and walking a distance to her destination from a lot. It feels different from parking in front of the grocery store and running in for a second.

A few things gleaned from listening to Nancy Grace’s podcast, Crime Stories:

It was unusual for Heidi to leave early from the son’s game, according to JW.

LAPD detective told JW to stay away from speculation, deal only with facts.( JW stressed this several times, so apparently he must have been admonished by his insinuations in the media. He said there’s no playbook how to deal with this, and I’m learning as I go.)

Heidi’s friend DN said Heidi always made a big deal about birthdays. Very generous. And her son’s is coming up. She would’ve been planning.

JW says she had an Apple Watch on. But Location Service is shut off. Investigation says the Range Rover’s never had been turned on. Police said the phone found on the kitchen counter of her home was her PERSONAL phone (this is contrary to what we’ve heard)—according to Apple. Location Service turned off of phones, laptop and watch.

DN says she thinks it was actually the 29th floor that the dog was found on.

JW says building has been very cooperative with the LAPD. (apparently once they got the search warrant. Nancy Grace says not surprising, it’s cya. Don’t want to be sued.)

DN doesn’t think the investigation of her bosses was in the forefront of Heidi’s mind, as it has been years. JW didn’t want to talk about the employers, again saying don’t want to speculate.

JW confirmed that the dog had been at the game with Heidi.

DN says she wasn’t seeing anyone right now. Dating someone on and off, and right now, off. She was the one to break it off.

Yes I think they paved it to control erosion and flooding. It does swell during heavy rains but we’re in a pretty severe drought. We had heavy rains on Oct. 25, after she went missing. By that, I mean like more than an inch (just putting things into perspective for our Floridian friends!). I used to take the train into LA every day and it’s easy to see every little thing. I remember even seeing people bathing in it from time to time (the water is very polluted). There’s no way a car could be in it undetected. MOO

I looked on Google Earth. It appears a train stop is at the base of the apartment complex.
It is probably the metro. It runs in an underground subway through most of downtown, and I believe there are above ground routes out of the city.

I think they know who walked in with the dog. If it wasn't Heidi then it was someone who lived there so it wouldn't be anything suspicious to security. MOO
I guess I'm assuming that police warrant might state they need to know who brought the dog in, so they can interview them about the circumstances...

I’m more inclined now to believe the dog was found near the building in downtown LA. There’s a lot there. Banks are closed on Sunday. But you have federal/state offices, museums, restaurants, staples center, shopping, religious services, a major transit hub (Union Station and there is also a fairly unsophisticated metro system) - all reasons why someone would swing through.
Pets are allowed on the metro. Just a thought.

Haven’t listened to the full podcast, but read the article, which is from today. So definitely didn’t match info given in second article I linked.

They wrote: "Onni has been fully cooperating with the LAPD throughout this situation and continues to do so.

"Given the situation is an active investigation, we cannot provide any further comment at this time, and direct you to the LAPD for any available updates."

Heidi's car remains missing, according to local reports, while her laptop and phone were found at her home during a wellness check on October 20.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, her ex Jim revealed how he found messages on Heidi's phone from a stranger who had discovered her dog Seven wandering alone in the high-rise.

He said he then went to pick up the pet from a couple "who said they had just found it roaming around on their floor in the hallway."

It’s very unfortunate that we’re getting much of our info from the ex-husband, who I don’t believe is a reliable source. I’m imaging a scenario where someone leaves a message saying something like, “This is xx, I live on the 28/9th floor of xx apartment building and I just found your dog wandering around.” Or something like that, and he filled in the blanks incorrectly, assuming they found Seven wandering in the building.

Thanks for the detailed notes, much appreciated.

So, sounds like police haven't shared, for example, the data they've turned up in tracking the route of her RR after leaving the game.

Not going to be a very happy birthday for her son, how sad she won't be there.

After looking at the area on a map, I'm leaning towards a hypothetical meeting taking place in very close proximity to Hope+Flower. Or the dog escaped/was put out of the RR near the apartments. Unless he knows to look both ways like Bear 399 (google it, amazing story), the odds of getting hit are high.

According to what is posted on Fox news Nancy Grace news site:
The day after the game- 10/21 os what he is referencing.
JW as far as I can tell has a syntax issue. May be stress related, but it makes his declarations difficult to understand, in addition to the random contradictions.
And I guess the “spare phone” is her personal phone and the computer missing would also be her personal computer? And I suppose he glaringly doesn’t remember what he has said previously.
From the article:
…Wayne said that when he couldn't reach his ex-wife the next day about matters concerning their son, he began to worry and sent her best friend to check in on her at her home. Planck's cell phone was on the counter, but she was not home. Her Range Rover, purse, spare phone and her computer have not been found.
Wayne said his ex-wife's corporate phone was full of messages left by a woman who found Planck’s dog on the 28th floor of a downtown LA apartment building just three hours after the mom was last seen. Her Range Rover, purse, personal phone and her computer were all gone….
