Greetings from Tasmania, Australia.

I may have missed this if posted earlier, but could HP be in Witness Protection, etc until she gives evidence against the employer?

As the son is subject to shared custody she may have unable to take him with her, with the son and ex being kept out of the loop at this stage?
I think anything is possible at this point.

Hard to say but I’m a little annoyed by the way the media is painting the building as villainous for not handing over videos without being presented with a warrant. That’s not the way things work here. LE needs to be properly prepared. I think between all the spaces you mentioned (street and building) hopefully they have something.
And if the Yelp reviews are to be believed, there may be other reasons why they don't want to just voluntarily offer up their security cameras with no limit on time and date. There are complaints of damage to vehicles, unsafe living conditions, gun incidents, all before HP went missing.

Full clip of the interview with Nancy Grace talking to Jim and Heidi's friend D on Nov. 3, regarding her cell phone.

Nancy
Tell me about that cell phone.

Jim
Her cell phone. The cell phone - I went into her house with D to look around. This is after the police report was....the missing person report was done. D and I went into her house. I saw that her phone was sitting there. D brought it to me. I think it was the next day. She....cos I was trying to get a hold of friends and family for Heidi. So that's how I came into possession of that. I also had to turn that over to the detectives at the LAPD.

Nancy
So Heidi... her cell...that's where I got that. You did find her cell phone but not at the building, it was back at her home?

Jim
At her home, yes.

Nancy
Ok and D, you were with Jim when he found the cell phone?

D
Erm I....she actually had two phones. So she had a work phone and she had a personal phone. The one that was at the house, I believe was the personal phone. I ended up taking it to Jim, but I have gone to her house on...prior, I think maybe Tuesday, Monday or Tuesday, because B (son) text me and said "My mom is not answering me. Have you heard from her?". And I said, "No, you know, she didn't respond to me yesterday which I mean was a little weird", but not responding for 24 hours is normal for me, not for her.

So he asked me to go to the house and check. Because I have a key to the house, so I went over there and one of her phones was sitting on the kitchen counter, which is the one I ended up taking to Jim after the missing person's report was filed, because he wanted to see if he could find any clues in it.

Nancy
So the personal phone is the one that you got from her home, correct?

Jim (interrupts D)
Nancy, we don't know if it's the personal or the business. The police detectives have told me that was her personal phone, according to Apple. That's all I know.

Nancy
Alright, so was it on or cut off?

D
It was on.

Jim
All...her phone was on. The location services on those...on her phones, er the laptop and her watch are all shut off.

Nancy
When were they shut off...the location?

Jim
We don't know. That is, that is another one of those mysteries. We don't know and if the police do know they haven't shared that with me.

Nancy
You know (inaudible), you can go into your phone and go through all sorts of gyrations and cut off communication services. But why would she do that on all of her devices? Was location services cut off when she went missing? So now we have one phone and we're missing another phone......

Sorting through, the silence is deafening, lack of transparency is chilling, misinformation is rampant.
What am I missing?
10/17- Antsy Heidi inexplicably leaves son’s game at half-time.
Texts discovered later indicate that dog was inexplicably at the H&F building 3 hours after Heidi left game.
10/18- JW later stated he asked friend to check Heidi’s house after not reaching her. Friend found all normal and she reportedly found a personal or back up cell.
10/20- JW and son go to police station to file Missing Person report.
10/21- JW accompanies local police to do a wellness check at her home. Found various devices allegedly including a work cell and reportedly a work laptop. JW revealed later that work phone texts on recovered cell indicated that dog was kept at H&F since 10/17.
10/28- Guns drawn very late on a Friday night, 8 days after Missing person report filed snd 7 days after Wellness check turned up a “pristine” environment, LAPD elite Robbery and Homicide division along with federal agents conduct an intense search inside the home of the missing person, search for clues or weapons in plants on the roof, remove a few files.
Also at some point warrant is granted to, at least, search the H&F garage.
First week of November, ex husband begins vaguely implicating employer and work situation.

So. Did they get a tip that precipitated the full court late night raid? Do they have evidence of a kidnapping or extortion? Nobody is talking except the ex husband. Social media and outcry from friends seems to have quieted down. Police have remained silent.
Is there a back door exit from the house? Access to the house from the street behind the house? Did the friend who allegedly picked up a phone on 10/18 just overlook the other phone and laptop/s?
There are conflicting reports about whether the laptop was there the first time her home was entered or not so it may be awhile before we get a definitive answer about that.

Other than that, you've summed it up nicely.

I will say that with incredibly fast-moving news cycles, this story wouldn't have garnered much coverage if not for her ex and her friends who have made sure news outlets are covering her disappearance. I give them a lot of credit for being persistent and making themselves available for interviews.

Particularly because aside from the news media allowed at the raid of her home, we have not heard a peep from LE. By this time, three weeks afterwards, there would normally be a statement of some kind. Yet there hasn't been a news conference or a statement of any kind, that I can remember, besides what they initially posted on FB with the flier.

This is so confusing to me. How would either J or D not know if it was her personal or business phone? I would imagine they know her number (s) and it wouldn’t be difficult to discern the two. All they had to do was look at this phone they allegedly found and see what its number was. JMO

About the dog. I find it extremely hard to believe that if they in fact found this dog IN the building. That would only make a connection. It would make much more sense that if these are nefarious circumstances that the dog was found outside of this complex. JMO

I’m not sure about your last para/conclusion. But I def agree the rest of the dog story seems wonky. & I know for sure that where I live the microchip company do not give out the owners’ details except to registered authorities - police, vets, animal welfare organisations etc - certainly not to Joe Bloggs who found the dog. Is it different in the US? (eta unless, is it possible the microchip company gave the details to the vet and the vet practice passed them on to the dog finder? Seems wrong to me but not impossible)

I tend to think the financial misdeeds stuff gives the culprit in Heidi’s disappearance a good smokescreen. And if so it will be significant to them to ensure that financial case and Heidi’s boss and his apparent sinisterness be reinforced in the public and police mind.
I've been wondering if the dog simply had a dog tag with the information on it, and that somehow morphed into having a microchip.

I think people are getting hung up on the microchip. He didn't say that he located the couple that were caring for the dog via the microchip company nor did they say that is how they obtained her phone number.

"Jim said one of the texts received on Heidi’s phone was from a woman who had found Heidi’s dog, who was chipped, and tried to contact Heidi."
(from Dateline NBC site)

Los Angeles is thankfully very strict with dog licensing: Dog license tags shall be affixed to a collar or harness, and must be worn by the dog at all times when off the guardian premises.

And a lot of people get tags made with the pet's name and contact number - I do.

In the last video just posted in this thread, JW says that the dog had to get through 4 levels of security to get where found in building.

In the last video just posted in this thread, JW says that the dog had to get through 4 levels of security to get where found in building.[/QUOTE Ok, but did he get through that with the person who found him. The person that lives there. That would make sense. But, if someone that either lives or has access to that building, for them to leave dog there is really, really stupid. JMO

I don’t know why that quoted that way. My point is- if there is a person responsible for her disappearance and they left her dog inside of a highly secure building that they live in they are not that smart. It will would be too easy to connect. If this is going the way most of is are probably thinking, unfortunately I think most perpetrators would somehow have the dog as far away as possible. JMO

Does anyone know what time she's seen leaving her home on 10/17? I am looking, but I can't seem to find a time.
Nope. The nearest I could find was:

.......Security footage released by the LAPD shows Heidi leaving her home with her dog prior to arriving at her son’s game.....

Mystery surrounds disappearance of Los Angeles mother after leaving son’s football game last month

I imagine the time would have been mentioned by her ex or LAPD if the CCTV had shown her leaving a few hours earlier than her son's football game.

Then the dog entered the building with someone who lives there, with or without Heidi. MOO

With that level of security, there is no way, imo, that the dog is not on camera when it first entered the building, so although we don't know, security must know who took it in. The dog most certainly did not get in and get to the 28th floor all on its own. According to what I have read, unknown people don't just enter the building and manage to get by the concierge stand. JMO

In the last video just posted in this thread, JW says that the dog had to get through 4 levels of security to get where found in building.

FOUR levels of security? Are these very upmarket apartments that are inhabited by the rich and famous? That seems to be an awful lot of security for apartments, at least in my experience.
What is so special and top secret about these apartments for:

a) them to have that level of security
b) the management company to be so averse to cooperating with LE and handing over any CCTV etc

?

I did read in an article that it was morning, but now I can't remember what article it was. I went through several and couldn't find anything specific. I wondered if you could look up Downey Youth Football League and get a schedule for games to get a rough idea of the time frame the game would have started but haven't had a chance to look.
