on another note I find it hard to believe that JS would be involved if this was just tied to the business. I mean he had to know everything would point to him since her name was literally on all the paperwork and I am not sure what her death would accomplish if he is still knee deep in illegal business practices. Unless of course this had to do with their personal relationship hmmmm IMO
this case kind of reminds me of the mcstays in that there r numerous people with a motive. my gut is it is tied to whatever was going on out of that building because she was possibly engaging in something unsavory there since her friends do not know her connection to it. All jmo
very sad a boy lost his mother.
I agree with your thoughts but would also add, in all these cases, I believe we are dealing with psychopaths. Ordinary (even if ordinarily greedy and fraudulent) people do not murder people and dispose of their bodies in landfills.
While there was a financial 'motive' for Charles Merritt to kill the McStays, who in h*** bashes in the skulls of two small children for the sake of a gambling debt, and wanting more money to waste at the casino.
So I think, rather than speculating whether someone has a motive, it's more important to ask whether someone shows signs of being psychopathic: having a previous criminal record, having unstable relationships, routinely manipulating friends and family, and so on. IMO, most people know whether they have a psychopathic boss, even if they can't put a finger on what it is.
The other issue is this is a case of a lone, attractive female, and they are sometimes the victims of a particular type of crime, usually sexually/emotionally motivated, as we surely know by now.
ETA: The other sure sign of a psychopath, IMO, is they carry on as though what they did never happened, even when police are sniffing very close to them. For eg, in the Gabby Petitito case, her boyfriend was probably not a psychopath, since it appears he couldn't face the reality and consequences of what he'd done.
