If I'm looking to commit suicide, no way I'm changing a tire for the last hours of my life.

I don't think it's suicide either, just trying to understand the police "voluntary" label. It's not like her car was left at a park or public parking lot where she could easily plan to meet someone. It was left by the side of the road in the middle of a forest! :gaah:

Have there been any searches of the area her car was found? After looking at the map and seeing how far past Igo she drove, I guess LE is indicating by "voluntary" they think she is a suicide? Because it makes no sense to me that she would change a tire and keep on going. Also makes no sense to hike off into the woods in the middle of the night/early morning hours. If my car broke down there and there is no cell signal...I would turn on my flashers and hope someone stopped and then only crack my window enough to ask anyone who stopped to please drive up the road and call police to come assist me. I would wait in my car until daylight before walking out of there. It is not a good road to walk on. There is hardly even a shoulder to safely walk on or pull off on: https://www.google.com/maps/place/C...29f30ccba43039!8m2!3d40.3892742!4d-123.068679

I was thinking of suicide, too, thus my asking if those woods have been searched for any sign of her.

Anderson Police Investigators obtained cell phone data information for ROGGENKAMP’s cell phone and found she had not made or received any calls since December 10, 2016. The last cell phone tower location record showed ROGGENKAMP to appear to be driving in the Highway 36 area of Platina. Anderson Police Investigators recently learned that ROGGENKAMP is familiar with the remote area of Trinity County where her vehicle was located off of Highway 36. In fact, ROGGENKAMP visited this very same area just after thanksgiving during a day trip with her daughter.

I am thinking it is suicide too, though I want it to be a voluntary disappearance - and she will decide to come home or at least contact her family.

Is there a search going on for her?

Stating the obvious - "last seen at 3:00 am" in heavily wooded area with no/little cell reception leaving keys locked inside her car -- "voluntary"? Doesn't matter how well she knew the road at any time, especially at that early hour. Definitely missing pieces here to put together the puzzle. Sad.

ETA - car was unlocked.

I'm really not feeling good that she knew the area and had been there just recently. That bit of info makes me lean more towards suicide. She could have scoped out the perfect place on that trip with her daughter. At the very least, they need to search everywhere she went with her daughter.

Today I noticed an Amy Snow missing from around the same area. Lots of woman missing lately from up there. She drove past her destination? Do we know if it was her driving the car at 3am or maybe someone put it there and made it look like something happened?

The area is very popular for hunting - being that national forests are public hunting lands. From her FB and others she knows, it appears they are hunters or at least recreationally interested in hunting. Maybe they were there on or around TG hunting bear, upland game, etc. It is very remote and dense, but also popular. When we are up there during deer season we would have no trouble having someone come upon us and help if we were in a bind or having vehicle trouble. But 3 am in non-prime hunting season is a different story. It was likely raining, maybe lightly that night.

Do you have a link to any news stories about Amy Snow? I tried searching and couldn't find anything about her. I'll start a thread if there is MSM for her case (if there is not already a thread for her). TIA.

Nor-cal alliance just posted it today. She was last seen November 26th in Salyer ca. I tried searching for more info as well and couldn't find anything. Nor-cal said they just got the info today. If I see more on it I'll send it to you.

What are they using as "last seen"?

Where was SHE at 3:00 am?

Was she with someone at 3:00 am? Who saw her/spoke to her?

Is it certain Jessica was the one changing the tire?

Where was she when the tire got changed?

Maybe the tire got changed BEFORE Igo, and now her car is found abandoned AFTER Igo (left there by someone else).

Is the driver seat in the logical position for a person of her size?

Wondering if someone helped her change the tire and then offered her a ride to a place to sleep for the night?

Looking at her pinterest it seems like she was a welder, so as long as she had the tools its probably likely she could have changed her own tire.

A woman welder has my utmost respect, and most likely wouldn't have trouble changing a tire. I couldn't even begin to change a tire. She's also probably not one to easily mess with. All it really takes is getting in a vehicle with the wrong person. There was a recent study done on long haul truckers, it was shocking how many of them had removed the inside door handles on the passenger side. Even had she not gone with someone willingly, she was pretty helpless, stranded in the middle of nowhere.

But how do we know she really changed her tire? How do we know when she changed it and where?

If she told someone she changed her tire (in a text or call), maybe she didn't tell the truth but was simply relaying a message that would make it possible for someone to find the car and perhaps find her.

I'm sorry to say that I do think this is suicide. :(

But I'm holding on to hope for a voluntary disappearance.

According to officials from the Norcal Alliance for the Missing, the vehicle of 44-year old Jessica Roggenkamp was found off Highway 36, near Wild Mad Road, early Saturday morning by Fish and Game personnel.
