Yep, just like miraculously the knife appeared out of no whete, yet wasnt thrown in the graves along with all of the other evidence he did to conceal, and hide evidence.

Maybe I'll start calling this defense stragedy the imaginary defense. Lol jk.

But I am glad the DT is bringing attention to the jury that Summer was raped.

I've always felt she was, but I knew the evidence would be too degraded, and the state would be unable to have the evidence to support charging him with rape.

Unfortunately, that's happened in many other murder cases as well, due to the poor condition of the bodies when found years later when they were nothing but skeletonized remains by then.

Imo

There are a lot of things 'missing'. Wallet... purse... cell phones... what about Summer's glasses? I recall a ton of discussion about her prescription sunglasses being left at the house... I don't recall that her glasses were found in the graves?

ohhh kinda forgot about her! I want to hear from CJ, it will be the first time we "hear" her, not her through Merritt, not her through an investigator, just her. And I am really curious if her story changed.

I messaged Rob McMillan to see if he would be there today, I haven't heard back yet, if and when I do, I will let you all know :)

I really hope he is. The audio is good, but we need some visuals.

So, yesterday's testimony is the second time that Chase's truck has been measured at 71 inches, not 73. Wonder if the defense will do anything with that.

I sometimes wonder what McGee thinks when Maline is questioning LOL He's not my favourite either lol His questions are never clear, or not complete sentence's, or something.. lol

I remember during the Scott Peterson death penalty trial the majority thought Rick Distaso was just too dry, since he was more of a ADA who was 'facts just the facts' kind of prosecutor with no fanfare.

However I really liked RDs style. I don't care for attorneys who are so overly dramatic, but those who are dead serious, showing the jury it isn't about them, and their antics they can display in front of the jury.

The vast majority believed RD was going to lose the case. I never believed that for one second.

I knew Rick had done a great job asking the right questions in his unassuming style.

His closing was one of the most riveting I've ever seen. There wasnt one doubt he knew his case like the back of his hand. He came across as honest and the jury trusted him. Imo

He not only sent SP to death row he became a Superior Court judge not long afterwards, and remains one today.

Imo

I noted that as well... in my notes I have the tire tracks measured as 73" and 76" from the grave sites.

That will be interesting to see if it gets used in rebuttal, or in closing.

hmmm I followed that case, it wasn't televised, was it? Has audio of that been released? I really can't recall that. I seem to recall Beth Karas running back and forth for updates  maybe I'm not recalling it correctly?

Maybe he has them hidden away to keep trophies belonging to his victims. That's not unheard of by any means.

Rob just answered me, he said that Leticia Juarez (@ABC7Leticia) | Twitter will be there today, so keep an eye on her twitter :) I thanked him again for the tweets and pics/video's from yesterday ;-)

Good. Glad you let him know he was appreciated. He did a great job. I wish they would #mcstay, because it's hard to know who is covering this, when they don't do that.

I'm expecting to hear more about that with their own witness... also the wheel base... the tail light/latch thing... damage to the bumper...

Oh yeah. Regardless of which way you lean regarding outcome, the forensics at this trial, especially in rebuttal, is going to be of interest. Rajan Maline tends to use advanced forensics in his defense, and obviously McGee is brilliant. His background in science gives him an edge.

Drive tests, computer forensics, advanced DNA analysis, all the vehicle analysis-if you are a forensic junky, this is the case to watch. And it's really the defense who have done the most work on this aspect of the case.

Does anyone here know when they split up?
I am not even sure that they were bf/gf? She said they had known each other for years - best friends - like a brother to her. IIRC possibly high school friend?

Because she said he told her 2 weeks previous to when she came forward on October 26/18, would make it roughly the 12th? and he had been contacting and threatening her after that. I wonder if she has proof of him threatening her? If she came forward soon after, if there were text messages.. did she keep them?

Yep... that witness will be interesting.

And the defense might put Dan Kavanaugh on the stand!

Merritt needs all the brilliance he can get on the taxpayers dime
