You ever notice how they never respond when you ask about CM's phone pinging near the burial site.

I think this will pose a problem if it shows that what the State says it will show, however, I still have not heard any evidence about it. I have heard what both sides said in the opening statement... I have also looked at the cell records... I can't read tower info, can you?

So in other words he is an unreliable witness

You're too kind.

It goes much deeper than being an unreliable witness.

His credibility is less than zero. And he knows the jury knows the defendant has a more vested interest to lie than any other witness.

If he testifies, which I still hope he does, the jury will look at him with jaundice eyes so deep they may feel they are all going to go blind before he ends spinning his tall tales, aka, testimony. Lol

Imo

There is a rumor of a missing laptop not recovered. Was there 5 "devices" listed recovered from the home or am I mistaken?

I do recall 5 devices being mentioned... and at one point, Device 3 (I think it was), came up, but it was objected to pretty quick, again IIRC it was the pro's objecting. I will check my notes later when I catch up and see if I noted it. I am not sure we ever heard about #1 and #2? And I'm not positive the "devices" were all from the home LOL But I do recall that it was implied that there was a "missing laptop", which was possibly Joey's. Again... I will check my notes :)

I have never been to a casino. Only fake ones with play money for school fundraisers. My favorite was the black jack table. LOL.
When I quickly scanned the records presented today it looked like sometimes he was there for 7 hours. Is this common?
I wish I could tell you. I live close to Pechanga and I've stepped foot in there
Maybe 3 times in 15 years. An hour at the most. But I'm no gambler. I could see how hours could slip past quickly if one is playing the tables with a load of cash.

state back up;;;

state contends that there are MORE casino withdrawals then they thought earlier

PCA and GPA are also casino withdrawals, according to the FA, and he just now learned of that , so the amount of casino cash is higher

the court is taking their morning break now, and the FA is going to give the jury the NEWLY REVISED gambling total.

I am sure the DT is scrambling right now to figure how to push back.

ahhh I have to thank you again! Much appreciated @katydid23

Well, we now know that the DA has no witness from Union Bank who actually spoke to Joey McStay about fraud.

Banks record conversations and they definitely would have taken note if Joey called in stating that someone was stealing from his account. There appears to be no evidence that Joey had just discovered theft by way of his bank account. And if Joey didn't call his bank about money gone missing, this does away with motive for February 4.

Investigators appear to have reached quite a few conclusions for which there was no evidentiary support.

Sorry but it's not wrong. We will just have to agree to disagree. :)
You're disagreeing with the judge then.

J: Oh sure yeah I mean if he says here’s my “report” – it’s all in my charts and graphs – that’s my report, ok then that’s it, but if he says now let me go over these and let me tell you what they mean then yes I would agree you’re entitled to that summary.

Actually, not true. There is testimony that Chase was at Metro Sheet Metal mid-morning on the 8th. He also pings towers near to his home, on other days. The fact that when questioned four years after these murders he can't recall what he did on a given day, isn't all that surprising. Especially as he worked for himself. He could easily have been at work, and the time blurred.

Where were any of us the weekend of February 4, 2010?

Finishing my last bank account reconciliation and Visa reconciliation prior to going on maternity leave with my oldest child. My last official day was February 5th. Finishing up the book of office procedures and my personal work responsibilities for my coworker who would be filling in for me. I then went on CRA's website and filled out my application for EI (Employment Insurance) as I am a Canadian, afforded a full year off for maternity leave. I also had to get my boss to sign my top-up forms for my coverage (I was covered 100% wages). It was a triggering event, so I remember LOTS.
Ask me what I did last week. NO IDEA. When something big happens in someone's life, they tend to remember. My best friend going missing, well, that's something most people would find...of note. Especially when he told others he tried to "reach him" (all weekend), which turned out not to be true.
*shrugs*

If Chase is innocent, at the point he's giving DNA and being interviewed, he doesn't know the family is dead. And given that there were some issues in their lives at that time around CPS, and that the family did sometimes just leave for short vacations, he may have had no idea that he would need an alibi for that weekend.

The family wasn't found dead for over 3 years.

Fair, or he knew that his DNA would/should be all over the place and victims, since, as McGyver stated, CM was in the house a LOT. So why not give a sample?

Actually the judge agreed with me. They are entitled to a summary of whatever the forensic accountant found, and if nothing is found, then it's common sense that the accountant should document that also.

It's amazing what an investment in education fails to net in terms of critical thinking. A BS, plus hours of continuing education in multiple disciplines results in categorizing expenditures and a line graph! Woohoo. My analysis of that line graph showed three points where Merritt killed someone, and one point at which he was killed.

If you know how to use Excel ... it even makes the charts for you :D:D:D

No the judge did not agree with you that there should be an additional report documenting no opinion.
