Sorry that doesn’t wash as why would the family go on vacation in the middle of doing up the house and wasn’t Summer planning a birthday party as well?

Then also why did they not inform a single person they was going away. Joey ran his own business and with that comes commitments so he would of informed DK or Chase.

also do mobile phones stop working when you go on vacation ? I was not aware of this magical gift that when I go on holiday my phone magically stops working!

The cops botched this from the get go and there is no other explanation and if Chase escapes justice it’s on them.
Im not arguing with you on any of this, just giving a logical explanation for the cleanup and Mike's taking of the computers. I agree Dugal was probably at fault for a lot of it, but like he said at the time he couldn't legally tell them not to enter since he didn't yet have a warrant..he probably should have advised her differently or handled it better

I can't believe this trial is finally happening!!!! I'm playing catch-up on the videos.

I don't know if this is the right spot to post this, but will McGyver be called back to testify? Long ago, if I remember correctly--(Sorry, I don't have dates), someone said they heard McG would go to the house as a friend/backup, because the family was uneasy about certain visitors! He could not go on Feb. 4th. If this was true, wouldn't it have been brought up in court already?

He was talking about the day he went there with a search warrant.

#McStay - Ret. Detective DuGal is back on the stand under direct examination. He's detailing the items collected when he went in on the 19th with a search warrant.

#McStay - Cadaver dogs were brought to the home on the 19th. The dogs didn't alert to any signs of deceased persons. DuGal said he didn't believe the dogs went inside the house. They were in the back and the sliding door was open.

#McStay - DuGal said he didn't have any evidence that there were remains in the house so he didn't have the cadaver dogs go inside.
My apologies. I thought it was before the search warrants.

I don't know why we can't entertain the idea that CM used the service road behind the back fence to load the bodies and have additional access to the house from the back. He had scaled that fence before and had run up the mountain, so he knew the area.

I suggest that he murders the family in a surprise visit, leaves at the 7:47 mark and parks the truck behind the fence. He then knocks out a couple of slats, returns to the house through the back, accesses QB on Joey's computer. loads the bodies, replaces the slats and continues his mission.

I would also pose the question: If CM's truck was in the driveway and the Trooper wasn't in the driveway, where was it? Neighbors say the family always parked in the driveway to the garage.

I think it's unlikely. I doubt CM even knew how to get to that service road. Given the defense's version of the footage (yes, their interpretation) it could be Merritt used another vehicle available to him.

As this is a forum, and not a court of law.
I am going to share my opinion.
It is my opinion, that Chase Merritt, alone, horrendously murdered Joey, Summer and their two baby boys.
It is also my opinion, that he tortured both Joey and Summer whilst committing this horror on this good family.
There is no reasonable "Why".
None of us who live a kind life can ever understand it.
Chase Merritt is not the first devil to proceed with evil. Nor, unfortunately, will he be the last.
Beating those little boys to death. Torturing Joey and Summer.
There is no greator evil.
In my opinion, Detective Dugal and the San Diego law enforcement did a great dis-service to Joey's and Summer's family.
