Checking in...nothing new. Sure was hoping for a positive update.

Yes, John is a veteran. I believe Joy said he did not see combat. The VA hospital in the vicinity of Lands End has been contacted. If you're asking for another reason, we're interested in any ideas.
I like the thought that he is somewhere "resetting" rather than giving up. I hope he phones home soon.
My father (who passed away on 2/27/95) was a veteran of 3 wars, and hearing that John is also a Veteran really tugs at my heartstrings. I spent a LOT of time at the Presidio and Letterman Army Hospital as a child when he was ill.
3 campaigns..that's fascinating. Probably WWII, Korea, and Vietnam?
I had lunch over the weekend with my 98 yr old Grandmother and her 93 yr old friend who was in WWII...they tell such fascinating stories of those times!

I wish we could get some kind of update. Joy hasn't checked in on WS since the day of her last post almost a week ago. There has been no FB entry in a week. I hope this just means being busy rather than bad news, but it is worrisome. Here's hoping they are close to finding John and are quietly working.

Tr I can only imagine the stories those two could tell. You are so fortunate to be able to share time with your GRANDmother and her friend.
My dad served in Korea and he never ever spoke about it. I wish now that I had questioned him about his service...he has passed on and I won't get an opportunity.
:tears:
Still here waiting for some news. Where are you JB? The pain and anguish the family and friends are going through, I can't begin to imagine. If wishing would make it come true, he would be home now. Sending UP thoughts and prayers.

I think they're still busy. There is a small update on the FB Page from JB's daughter. They have started a website http://findjohnbeck.blog.com/
I hate to sound so confused and a bit crotchety, but the first blog post was 2/19 and today is the first we've heard about it? Right after asking for an update? I'm glad it's posted, but I'm not understanding what's happening or why we have been sitting here listening to crickets for a week, sending good wishes and wanting to help. I hope Joy is OK.
There is a request for help with online searches and outreach, and an email for volunteers who want to help. We could be helping with that here if we knew what was needed...while still maintaining our anonymity.

OT/ I love that word, crotchety! I've never heard it before and just looked it up. I'll have to start using that one.
