“ Allowed to offer a reward.” Who is allowing her to offer a reward? Its her property and she has every right to offer a reward.

I'm not saying anyone is "allowing" her, as you say at present she has every right too. That's kind of my point Keefer.

If offering rewards for the return of "property" leads to higher levels of such crime (and thus threats to human life) it pulls into question whether there should be restrictions on offering such rewards... It's a discussion point not a statement of fact.

That video was horrific!! I am beside myself :(. I really hope they find the dogs and bring these attempted murders to justice!!
I’m also on the fence whether or not it was a specific target or whether it happened at random. Frenchies are stolen for profit all the time, unfortunately. My dad has 2 and keeps them close to him at all times. They are expensive dogs (I believe he paid 4 and 5k each for his) so I can see someone randomly stealing his dogs and selling one for 1-2k which would be “half price”. Anyway, if it was at random and the perps now know who’s dogs they belong to they will for sure kill the dogs :(. If this was a targeted abduction then they’re idiots because no way they’re getting any reward and not being found out!
I’m still beside myself with that video....

Lady Gaga's Dog Walker Shot and Critically Wounded, 2 French Bulldogs Stolen

2/25/2021

Lady Gaga's dog walker was shot and hospitalized in critical condition and two of her French bulldogs were stolen during a Wednesday night robbery, PEOPLE confirms.

[..]

A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson tells PEOPLE a robbery occurred at 9:40 Wednesday night on Sierra Bonita Avenue in Hollywood, during which two French bulldogs were stolen. The male victim, whose name has not been released by authorities, was transported to the hospital and is currently in critical condition, an LAPD spokesman says.

[..]

Those with information on the case should email KojiandGustav@gmail.com, the rep says.

[..]

Tara Bruno, founder of SNORT Rescue, a New Jersey-based organization that rescues bulldogs, pugs and Boston terriers, says French bulldogs are among the most stolen dog breeds because they're very popular, are small and portable, and are expensive.

[..]

"The motive is resale. Thieves know they can get a couple thousand dollars for them," she says.

''SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- ABC7 News has obtained surveillance video of the moment three men assaulted a woman at gunpoint before stealing her puppy in San Francisco's Russian Hill neighborhood on Tuesday Night.

In the video, a group of men wearing masks and white hoodies can be seen walking up Hyde Street near Broadway before attacking Sarah Vorhaus, 30, who said she was walking her two dogs, Colton and Chloe.''

''French Bulldogs can cost thousands of dollars and Vorhaus believes Chloe may have been targeted. She's terrified attackers will try to sell her.''

‘Help Me!’: Disturbing Video Shows Moment Thieves Shot Lady Gaga’s Dog Walker

The case is now being handled by the department’s Robbery-Homicide Division, which often oversees high-profile investigations. They are treating the case as an “assault with a deadly weapon,” a police spokesperson confirmed.

Lady Gaga is currently in Rome where she is filming Ridley Scott’s new movie Gucci. Her father Joe Germanotta described Fischer as a friend of the family.

“Our whole family is upset and praying Koji and Gustav are not harmed,” he told Fox News. He then pleaded for help to “catch these creeps,” adding “shooting someone in order to steal dogs is wrong.”

Officials said it was too early in the investigation to know if the dogs were specifically targeted in the attack. French bulldogs are very popular pets and puppies can cost as much $10,000, depending on their pedigree.

"One of the men is heard cocking a pistol as they storm towards Fischer, warning him to 'give it up'.

Fischer is heard crying out 'no' and shrieking out in horror for someone to help him as he attempts to fend off the assailants, as they appear to be grappling with him over the dogs on the ground.

'Koji, no!' Fischer cries as one of the men pulls him away from the sedan and towards the sidewalk.

A single gunshot then thunders out, and Fischer can be heard screaming."

''Fischer puts up a fight, screaming for help and yelling for Koji -- one of the dogs -- before the gun goes off, striking Fischer in the chest ... he immediately hits the sidewalk. Each of the thieves then pile into the backseat, with one dog per person ... the second dog can be heard yelping as it's taken ... and the third dog left behind runs back to Fischer.''

''The neighbor only agreed to release this video after getting word that Gaga's team wanted it to be seen to catch the shooter and recover her dogs, Koji and Gustav. The neighbor believes the getaway vehicle was a Nissan, it appears it could have been an Altima or Sentra.''

''Dramatic police scanner audio reveals the moment cops responded to Lady Gaga’s dog walker after he was shot and robbed of two of her beloved French bulldogs in West Hollywood on Wednesday night. “Shooting just occurred … caller heard one gunshot and a female screaming,” a 911 operator said over the scanner, alerting cops the incident occurred on North Sierra Bonita Avenue near the corner of Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.''

Jesus. I guess stealing dogs is the new stealing packages off front porches. I knew it was becoming a thing. I just didn't realize how bad. I will be keeping my poms close. And here I was looking forward to warmer weather so I could walk them.

The dog thief has friends, family and hopefully neighbours who will notice the dogs and be compelled to act on the reward.

If there were no high reward, they’d be putting themselves at risk of harm by tipping the police off. $500,000 means they can afford to temporarily relocate (imagine if it’s a housemate).

I’m sure this is about the attempted murder of her friend, and her dogs.

My dog was stolen in Toronto a few years ago. I offered $1000, which was enough to call attention to my search. A next-door neighbour of the thief tipped me off, and I got my beloved dog back safely. (Long story.)
