Corinne Anita Hagler, October 15 1962, 5' 5", ~120lbs. Light brown-auburn hair. Some teeth issues (the only family member to have been to the dentist).

Vaguely remember her self-piercing her one ear and wearing an ankh earring. -Was totally into ankhs as an early teen. There was a seven-stone ring in family. Straight line of pronged green, red, blue stones, yellow gold.

"Cori" went missing approximately just prior to her 18th birthday. Neither my mother nor my father hosted her 18th birthday. I submit because she was already missing. She was known to be or should have been living in Burbank, where she was born, on that birthday.

A missing persons report was filed with BPD by her stepfather in NC on August 1st 1981.

Her boyfriend, George Garnett, born NJ but grew up in Burbank, birth year approx. 1963, 5' 7", long reddish brown hair, rumored an ankh tattoo, has been missing since 1980 as told to me by his surrogate father.

George has a juvenile arrest record with BPD. I know. I was arrested with him in 1976 for Discharging a Firearm in City Limits. He also had contact with BPD when he told them in 1978 that I lit the car on fire of the man who molested Cori and her friend "Cindy" (who was first George's girlfriend and then mine).

I have spent thousands upon thousands of hours over 35 years searching for any trace of these two kids, the girl my sister, always suspecting for reasons that I cannot as yet here publicly divulge that both were killed together, only to come up empty handed until Ludlow John and Jane Doe were entered into the system a handful of years ago.

My DNA has been compared but deemed inconclusive (Van-Norman).

I have an Indian bead bracelet (that was once a necklace I made for Cori) that very well may contain her DNA as well as have located three letters dated early 1980 that she mailed after licking the back seal and stamps of that may also contain her DNA.

I have pictures of Cori from age 6 through 17 however only a few show her smiling with partially open mouth and most as expected are grainy or blurred. I intend to post them all here but at this time am not sure if that is appropriate or acceptable.

Just wanted to say a late welcome to websleuths. I am so sorry for the reasoning you are here, and I hope your journey can bring you much needed answers to what happened to your sister. Thank you for sharing your sisters story and for continuing your search for her.

Hopefully DNA techniques will improve in the future and allow a comparison to be made.

Has Jane Doe been cremated? What about the male doe, can he be compared to the boyfriend?

Not much is known about the boyfriend, except for what Cori's brother outlined above. Apparently, he was adopted. So even if his family could be located, it wouldn't be helpful for DNA unless they still had personal items of his that might still have DNA.

IDK if the Jane Doe has been cremated. Probably not, because San Bernardino County usually buries their unidentifieds (unlike Los Angeles County, which cremates their UID's and indigents)

I have often thought about this case [emoji22]

Nothing new here, just putting it all in one place for reference:

From Namus (https://identifyus.org/cases/2517) The following people have been ruled out as being this decedent:

First Name Last Name Year of Birth State LKA

REBECCA DUNN 1958 Nevada
Lucinda Schaefer 1962 California

Other ruleouts per this thread:

Tammy Sue Clements http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...WhtMale-UP2578-Nov-80&p=12220491#post12220491 No DNA match

Brenda Crowley ruled out on dentals http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...w-WhtMale-UP2578-Nov-80&p=7827895#post7827895

Cecile Moch, unlikely on dentals, detailed discussion upthread.

And they really can't find any dental records for Corinne Anita Hagler?
I ask because my dentist from the early 70s is still practicing. Rare, I know.

Here's Corrine's new Charley Page link: http://charleyproject.org/case/corinne-anita-hagler

She had several distinctive physical characteristics (Taken from CP):
She has a pigmented mole on her abdomen above her navel, a large scar on her right forearm from an iron burn, and a tattoo of three dots in a triangle between her thumb and index finger. Corinne has previously broken three ribs, and she is knock-kneed; her legs turn inward. Her nickname is Cori.

Wouldn't some of them have shown up in the remains if it were here? Like her rib fractures and knees?

Here's the reconstruction, her teeth are in the insert:

Consider the above approximation of the Jane Doe's smile when considering possibles.

On the missing lateral incisors:

In a previous study, congenital absenceof the permanent lateral incisor with a frequency of 2.2%

And:

This is a hereditaryprocess: a generation that has an anomalous tooth (small-sized maxillary lateralincisors/peg-shaped lateral incisors) will have descendants that no longer possess thistooth.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4245760/

I guess what this means is that one or both of her parents would have either had peg-like lateral incisors or none at all, and her siblings might well also be affected. I've come across the missing lateral incisors feature in a small number of Does, including Taman Shud. It would be interesting to do a genetic comparison between them to see if, or how closely, they are related.

Here are the photos of Corrine sent to me by her brother. I cropped them, and did some adjustments to the color, darkness, and contrast.

The second photo from the left was taken around 1976. The one on the right is the last known photo of her, taken a couple months before her disappearance.

You know, that photo almost proves to me that the Doe is not Corrine.

I don't know how LE determined the Doe's weight, given that there were only partial skeletal remains, but if they are right her BMI was 19.1 - ie at the lower end of the healthy range. Corrine is clearly significantly overweight in that most recent photo, maybe even obese. Short of catastrophic illness I don't see how Corrine could have lost that much weight in only a few months.

BBM for clarity
I was going to suggest the same thing! Only, you said it better. Congenitally missing teeth run in my family, on my mother's side. We can trace it all the way back to a great uncle, who had no adult teeth grow in at all. I am missing two adult bottom incisors, one of which remained a baby tooth. The other never materialized. I only had one wisdom tooth. Luckily, it appears none of the subsequent generation were afflicted, including my son, but I'm thinking if I'd had more kids, that might not have been the case.

Actually what interests me is other information in that entry:

Corinne's father, Harold L. Hagler, stated that one day in October 1980, he came home from work during his lunch break and found Corinne with her boyfriend, George Garnett, having sexual intercourse. He said he and Corinne argued and he "slapped her around", and then she ran away from home, possibly to go to Texas.

Corinne has never been heard from again. Garnett disappeared at around the same time and he is also still missing; photographs and further information for him are unavailable.

Harold had the carpeting in his home in his house replaced shortly after Corinne disappeared; he said it was stained with fluids from Corinne's sexual encounter with Garnett.

Hmmmm. The old "ran away from home" gambit.

Sorry, but I've never heard of sexual fluids staining carpet before.

Yes, they can, depending on what the carpet's made of, but it could also be the idea that his daughter was having sex on it rather than any actual physical damage. One of my neighbors threw out their brand new high end mattress and box spring set after they found out their son had been screwing his girlfriend on top of the bed. I think they threw out the frame and headboard too.

Not that I believe him. Though I can hope that after the fight and violence they both just packed up, left, and changed their names so he couldn't follow them, and are living happily ever after in someplace far from Ludlow...

Has anyone ever tried to track down the bf's family to see if maybe he went back east?

Yes, they can, depending on what the carpet's made of,

Thanks, I'd not heard about that. I was under the impression that vaginal or seminal fluids could be wiped up or scrubbed off fairly easily. What sort of carpet materials are stained by sexual fluids?

It sounds like the carpeting in the whole house was replaced, which sounds very unlikely if you find your daughter shagging on the carpet in one room.

This just stinks to high heaven. It sounds much more likely that her father found them, went beserk and killed them and that the body fluid he was worried about was blood. Was this ever looked at seriously by LE? (Rhetorical question, I suspect)

The details on the CharleyProject page really do suggest an entirely different narrative. And 40 years is a long time to stay away without ever contacting any family members. These young people would be well into middle age today.

Incidentally I notice that the CP page includes an additional blurry photo of Corrine which is dated to around 1980. If the date is accurate it shows that she was still very moon-faced close to when she went missing which doesn't seem to tie in at all with LE's estimate of the Doe's weight.
