Gosh, I am very new here but just read through the majority of this thread... I am so sorry for you and your family, @wildcats821. This reminds me a little of the Ryan Shtuka case here in BC, Canada. Very mysterious. I can't offer any help, just emotional support. Thoughts & prayers are with you and your family.

If someone could help me out locating a member, I cannot seem to find there profile. They had said somewhere in this thread that they were not a criminal attorney/lawyer just a regular one but could answer any questions if I need them too.

@wildcats821

Have you had any luck getting the items back from LE? I am an attorney but I’m not licensed in CA and am not a criminal lawyer. So I don’t know how helpful I can be! But let me know if you have any general legal questions. I can find the answer if I don’t know.

I listened to the podcast. It was definitely informational. I agree with the four possible scenarios. I really feel for your brother. Being a young adult can be hard. Still trying to figure out who you are and what you want to do in life.

Thoughts & prayers.[/QUOTE]

Hope I did this right. But it was @LVatty10

I sent this photo to the "Help Find Matthew Weaver Jr" page but I didn't get a response from them. I circled the spot where, to me, it looks like a person laying on the ground or a rock and is not wearing a shirt and is wearing dark pants. This picture is constantly on my mind and seeing as they found the hat and possibly a shirt, I cant help but think "what if this is him". I hope they at least checked the area of this photo. Maybe you all can take a look and tell me what you think. I used a magnifying glass.

I zoomed in and took a snip. Hard to really see but it's definitely worth checking out, IMO. Thanks for sending it in.

Anyone know which of the aerial photos this was taken from? The original post now seems to be incomplete.

@wildcats821 The downloadable 14GB ZIP file of the photos from the site at Aerial Photos gives issues when Windows tries to extract/open it - it gets flagged as 'invalid'. It will, however, open using a 3rd party extraction tool, such as 7-Zip. This could be down to the way the file was originally zipped - possibly on a 32bit system. Also, the download link at the top right of the album page seems to work, but only downloads a small portion of the available images. Hope I haven't bored you too much with technical details, but the full-res images are much better for the public to search in so might be worth talking with your technical contact to ensure the download versions are all working correctly?

Truly hope you get some solid answers soon. No family should ever have to suffer like this.

I tried examining the photos a while back and could not get them to work. But I am not great with that sort of thing so I assumed it was my technical limitations getting in the way.

@wildcats821 mentioned there will be a vigil in one of her posts. Maybe afterwards they can announce a photo-search group event at a central location. Sort of like phone banking operations work on campaigns. Have someone there who can address technical kinks and keep track of progress, order pizza etc to keep people motivated. Divide the photos into batches and screen them in small groups on good monitors and flag anything suspicious. If someone flags a photo they can pass it to a "close up team'' for further scrutiny while they keep moving ahead with screening their batch. Churches are a good place to recruit volunteers and stage events - perhaps after weekend services. Repeat the next weekend until all the batches are checked off.

@wildcats821 I am away for the summer but my thoughts will be with your family in Malibu this weekend. I am so sorry you have endured this heartbreaking tragedy and for all that Matthew is missing in life.

Where is Matthew Weaver? | The Missing

The interview we did for Matthew on ID is out now.

I just watched this, thanks for sharing. I didn't know Matthew had injured his head a couple nights earlier. I hope you get answers soon. I can't even imagine the heartache at reaching the one-year anniversary and still not knowing where he is.

Hi. I was the one that submitted the photo. I viewed (not download) the aerial photos from Aerial Photos and it was photo 144. I did notice that the photos had different numbers which made it confusing but I went back and checked and although it's showing as picture #144 I think it's actually #145: 20181104-SearchScan1-145.jpg
