Investigators continue to search for leads in disappearance of Pearl Pinson

Authorities have not searched for Pearl since Saturday, when they called off an intense effort in the Willow Creek area in Sonoma Coast State Park, according to the Solano County Sheriff’s Office.

“Investigators continue to follow up on leads and any future search will depend on where those leads take us,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

Thank you. I shared this with my son, who drives Hwy 37 & 116 every morning @ 8:30ish. He'll probably think I'm nuts, but the Saturn is much like mine, and it's just possible that he might have noticed it...

So, he was in Jenner. When was he there? Cell reception on the coast is hit or miss depending on the carrier. A map of the service areas for his carrier might be helpful. First places to check would be every gas station between Vallejo and Jenner and between Jenner and Oakland. Next would be all gas stations on the coast route north and south of Jenner and, all gas stations east of Jenner on Highway 116.

It's important to remember that many businesses and residents don't have internet service and information posted on Facebook will never reach them.

Missing Teen Update**

Search efforts for Pearl Pinson were focused in the Willow Creek Road area near Jenner in Sonoma County today. The Sonoma County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team is leading this search effort and additional search teams from Solano and Marin Counties will soon be joining. Ground, air, and water searches were suspended at sun down and will resume in the morning.

We know how important community updates are but cell and data service is unavailable in the search area and we will update our efforts as soon as possible.

Please keep Pearl and her loved ones on your thoughts as the search continues. We thank you for your continued support.

We continue to investigate the abduction of 15-year old Pearl Pinson and we remain hopeful we will bring her home safe.

Information found on the suspect’s cell phone and during a search of his car, led investigators to believe Pearl may be in the Jenner, CA area. With assistance from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office an extensive search of the area was done with no sign of Pearl found.


The Solano County Office of Emergency Services Search and Rescue Team has also conducted a search of the Glen Cove coastline in Vallejo, an open field and stream search of the area around the abduction site, and of the highway 37 from Vallejo to Sonoma County including the Skaggs Island area.


We continue to search for witnesses and information to help establish the suspect’s timeline and where he may have traveled to determine where Pearl is. We are asking our bay area business community to check their surveillance cameras from 7:00am on 5/25/16 to 9:15am 5/26/16 for any sign of the suspect’s car. We also are asking anyone who may find a backpack abandoned like the one pictured to call us.​

Okay so he WAS going westbound over the Richmond Bridge and DID cross the GG. Well huh.

Not necessarily. Those cameras usually focus on the license plate area, not the passenger compartment.

The Sheriff's department statement quoted above says, "Information found on the suspect’s cell phone and during a search of his car, led investigators to believe Pearl may be in the Jenner, CA area."

So a combination of things, I guess.

Well, they seemed to think he traveled Willow Creek Rd for some reason (btw, TOTAL barf city--that road is SO WINDY). Since the freeway cams caught him 24 hrs later, he definitely could have made a round trip to Jenner and back. I feel like Pearl was ditched long before he started crossing any bridges.

It's ok, it's a very convoluted timeline and route.

My theory is that this was a paid hit. He dumped her somewhere close to where he killed her. I suggest the Swanzy Reservoir. He then traveled up to Jenner (or thereabouts) to get paid for his deed. Then, he was making a run for the border (albeit circuitous), and was caught. He wouldn't have had a big shoot out unless it was for high stakes. (Thinking LE knew she was dead).
