The Placer County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of Othram has identified this Jane Doe as Patricia Ann Rose.
That's the first time I ever saw that clay recon. I wonder if the police misplaced it over the years.Authorities say the DNA matched a sister in the family - the woman who went missing from Sacramento and was last seen approximately in 1980. Detectives interviewed the sister and the child of Patricia Ann Rose after her identity was confirmed. Relatives told detectives that Patricia Ann Rose also used the first names "Torrie" and "Patti". Rose also used the last names "Bowden" and "Anderson".
Patricia Rose was estranged from her husband, JB, at the time of her disappearance. Patricia Rose was last seen approximately in 1980. I wonder if DeAngelo has a strong alibi.I wonder if John Bowden has a strong alibi. Besides, where the people in neighbouring rooms at the motel considered suspicious?
Why did she left the room and let her 18 month child alone?
So she was last seen in 1980 but a divorce was filed in 1982. I wonder who raised the son.Looks like Patricia and John got married in 1977:

No records, not even a police report? It makes me wonder whether Patricia's husband made that whole story up. Sorry, but I can't exclude him as a suspect.https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/cold-case-body-found-rural-california-identified-19021355.phpBy Katie Dowd March 15, 2024
'The identification of Patricia Ann Rose’s body has only deepened the mystery surrounding the fate of a woman who vanished from a Sacramento hotel around 1980.'
''Rose’s now-adult son also knew only what he’d been told over the years. Placer County sheriff’s investigators told SFGATE they found “no records or reports” in Sacramento County of a baby being found abandoned in a hotel. “This information came from the sister and the son, but they did not have much information,” a spokesperson said.
As of early March, they have only been able to find Rose’s sister and son. It’s not clear if her estranged husband is still alive. California records show Bowden was granted a divorce in Sacramento County in July 1982.
Investigators are hoping someone knows something about Rose’s death, which they are calling “suspicious.” Anyone with information is asked to email the sheriff’s office at PCSOTipLine@placer.ca.gov.
Yeah, that's concerning - although I wonder if they’ve kept all the records from 42 years ago. Records of a baby found in a motel room might not have been kept.No records, not even a police report? It makes me wonder whether Patricia's husband made that whole story up. Sorry, but I can't exclude him as a suspect.
