Bank Accounts Drained, Phone is Dead. Where is Rich?

A Riverside County real estate agent mysteriously vanished after he was last seen leaving a casino Monday, and now his friends are fearing the worst.

Rich Tyrrell, 47, disappeared after visiting the Pechanga Casino. His girlfriend said he isn't answering his cellphone, and much worse: his bank accounts have been cleared out.

This doesn’t look good at all.

That casino will have excellent footage of the man he was with, and his phone activity might help them key in on where he went.

He was clearly under a great deal of stress, but that bartender’s account can’t be ignored.

That’s suspicious.

Long time lurker, 2nd time poster.. Rich is my colleague at Rancon Real Estate. I've been putting together all the info to submit here and am grateful someone beat me to it. I will submit to become a verified insider as there is much going on the past 3 days... I've not been able to make a thread here as Rich was JUST entered into NamUs this morning and there were no MSM until 6pm today. We are worried sick and fear that Rich has met with foul play.

I’m sorry to hear about your colleague.

I hope that @MassGuy is right and that security footage will also shed some light on what happened.

Oh my goodness! Who drained the bank accounts??

Answer that, and this whole thing will become clear.

Law enforcement has a lot going for it here.

That casino footage.

Rich’s cell phone records.

His bank transactions.

His Rideshare records.

The answer lies there.

Yes! Law enforcement is making quick progress. I can't say much more until I'm verified but per the news reports there was a [publicly] unidentified man that the bartender took notice of, particularly when the man gave Rich a drink... other things I can't talk about but pechanga is cooperating with law enforcement and all footage has been reviewed. IMO it's not looking good. In a few hours it will have been 3 full days. We're all a wreck.

You’ve got a motive (money).

You’ve got a potentially strong suspect.

It’s a matter of identifying him, which shouldn’t be hard.

If this was a crime of opportunity, I’d expect the person Rich interacted with to have a criminal record.

I do think this will have a resolution in short order. Hopefully it’s not the one you’re scared of.

I am so sorry. Don't lose hope yet. I live in oceanside.

This seems like a voluntary disappearance to me. What do most people who voluntary go missing do? Drain their back accounts, leave their car (so can't be traced) and power off their phone. He might've been so stressed seeing his brother dying and decided that 'life is short' and that he needed to make himself happy before 'it's too late." He could've easily decided to to pursue a different life of sorts. If that is the case I feel bad for his gf.

There is more info not being released yet but I can say that Rich regularly took an uber to pechanga, so he could drink responsibly and have fun. It wasn't about gambling so much as there's not really anywhere else to hang out in Temecula. And his phone died after he called Marcy. He did not turn it off. I REALLY want for him to be voluntarily missing, having fun somewhere, escaping his worries... I REALLY want that to be true.
IMO.

Thank you so much John. I hope he is found safe and soon.

Initially, I thought this was a situation of voluntarily going missing.

But if what Marcy says about the bartender is true, I don't think we can discount that information.

If someone was at the casino looking for a mark, saw Rich win a bunch of money, befriends him, gets him drunk, leaves with him in a rideshare, forces him to drain his bank accounts, and then harms him....

The casino footage, bank records, and rideshare info is going to tell us everything we need to know. And I have a terrible feeling it's not going to be good.

Hanging out till two in the morning and drinking regularly is a rough lifestyle for a businessman with a girlfriend.. Especially if it's during the week. I live in the area too and don't know of many people who do that. Sounds like he was under a lot of stress, and I hope he wasn't making poor decisions. I don't know him, but we have a lot of mutual frIends. I am sure the police know who emptied his bank accounts. This could go a few different ways, but at this point I hope he did it and is just in hiding. Would hate to think foul play. There are other casinos in the LA area. Do you know if he is/was a card player?

It's not easy for a person other than the actual person to drain a bank account. You have to go in person to do so. Most ATMs have a $500 or $1k a day max. You can't just drive to multiple ATMs either...You'd have to wait 24 hours. So basically someone would've had to have gone in person. He was a realtor and likely had tens of thousands of dollars to 'drain'. This had to be done in person. If this guy at the bar who was buying him drinks caused him harm and stole his ID...it's possible. He would've also needed his pin number which he could've forced out of him (bc most banks require you to enter this in addition to having a proper state id).
