I wonder if this necklace means that she is linked to the Navy somehow (either she or a loved one served)? Or that she or a loved one has some tie to boats, whether they enjoy boating or do some sort of work related to the sea (fishing, dock work, etc.).

According to her recon, she could have been AA or SE asian, too. Very ethnically ambigous face with tendency towards non white. Actually i bet she was AA or African admixed Latino.
