A 71-year-old suspect was charged in the previously unsolved 1976 slaying of a 19-year-old woman in Daly City, challenging the notion that a single person committed a string of murders on the Peninsula known as the “Gypsy Hill killings.”

The San Mateo County district attorney’s office formally charged Leon Melvin Seymour on Wednesday with murder in the 41-year-old cold-case killing of Denise Lampe of Broadmoor.

Finally got a Google Alert on this case. Don't really know "what" is going on, but according to this article - he is being tried.

Woods was released from prison three years ago when newly available DNA evidence linked the 1976 killing of a Reno college student to an Oregon inmate, Rodney Halbower, now accused of multiple slayings in the San Francisco Bay area that occurred about the same time.

Now guessing the trial did not start in January, with all kinds motions being filed. Wish I could find something!
 
Well FINALLY I found something on this case. His trial has been vacated 5 times since Sept.!!!
