While federal agents were investigating the death of Roman Lopez, more than 400 nude photos of an underage girl were discovered on Jordan's phone, documents show. It also appears that he sent inappropriate text messages to the girl.

Agents also found a GoPro camera, and the card appeared to show him removing it from behind a wall outlet in the bathroom of a rental home in Groveland. Many of the videos found in the card were of a girl bathing.

Jordan faces a minimum of 15 years in prison if convicted of the charges.

I’m guessing the victim is a child living at the home?
 
According to a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for Eastern California, officers with the Placerville Police Department investigating the death of Piper’s son, Roman Lopez, seized a digital camera, cell phones, and other devices from the family’s home. Investigators said they found evidence on a phone that Piper “made surreptitious recordings” of a victim under the age of 18.

FBI agents obtained a search warrant for the camera, a GoPro SPTM1, and found a video of Piper removing the device from behind a wall outlet in the bathroom of a rental home in Groveland, California where he and the child were living. A further search uncovered “many videos” of the minor victim “using the bathroom and bathing, where her genitals were visible.”

Investigators then performed a digital search of Piper’s Samsung cell phone. The phone allegedly contained screen captures from the surreptitiously recorded videos of the victim “in various states of undress, and usually nude.”

“Approximately 433 nude images of Minor Victim 1 were found on Jordan Piper’s cell phone in the cache and screenshots section of the phone, as well as cache folders and screenshot folders in a secure folder on the phone,” the complaint states. “Many of those images created by Jordan Piper were focused shots of Minor Victim 1’s genitals or pubic area. In addition, the video camera was placed in a manner to maximize the chances of recording the genitals of Minor Victim 1 and other users of the bathroom.”

*Pre-Preliminary Hearing (@ 9am PT) - CA – Roman Anthony Lopez (11) (last seen Saturday morning Jan. 11, 2020, found later in evening dead in a storage bin in the basement, Placerville) – death is being investigated as suspicious. *Jordon Thomas Piper (35/now 36) “father” arrested (2/3/21), charged (2/4/21) & arraigned (2/9/21) with 1 count of child abuse likely to cause injury or death & causing cruel & extreme pain for revenge, extortion or sadistic purpose, 1 count of torture & 1 count with willfully failing to provide food, shelter & medical attention to the child. Plead not guilty. $1.05M bond.
Additional charge (10/29/21) & arraigned (11/19/21) of murder. Plead not guilty.

5/16/22 Update: Lindsey Piper changed her plea from not guilty to no contest to 2nd degree murder. Lindsay is scheduled to be sentenced 7/8/22 & faces 15 years to life in prison. Her not guilty plea to child abuse & torture charges remains. Jordan Piper is expected to return to court 5/24/22.
5/24/22 Update: Pre-Preliminary hearing on 6/24/22. 6/21/22 Update: The U.S. District Court for Eastern California filed a criminal complaint Tuesday after FBI Special Agent Scott Schofield investigated suspicions Jordan had filmed a minor in the nude, which stemmed from the investigation into Roman’s death. When detectives with the Placerville Police Dept. were searching for evidence following the discovery of the boy’s body in a storage bin in the basement of a Placerville home the family had been renting they found video recordings of a girl younger than 18, according to the complaint. The criminal complaint notes approximately 433 nude images of the minor were found on Jordan’s cell phone & many were focused on the genitals or pubic area. A child *advertiser censored* conviction for Jordan would result in a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison or a maximum of up to 30 years and/or a fine up to $250K.
*Lindsay Marie Piper (38/now 40) “stepmother” - Plead no contest (5/16/22) to 2nd degree murder. Sentencing hearing on 7/8/22. Her not guilty plea to child abuse & torture charges remains.
Piper willfully & unlawfully mingled a poison & harmful substance with food, drink, medicine & pharmaceutical product & placed a poison & harmful substance in a spring, well, reservoir & public water supply.
 
How heartbreaking. If all allegations are true, there were so many innocent victims. They truly didn't care how much they hurt these children. No remorse nor shame, doing what they did time and again. It's so very sick.
 
I wonder if Lindsey was shocked to learn what her husband was doing? Two twisted people who should never have been around children, let alone raising them. I hope the female victim is receiving counseling and is taught to protect her own child.

@Niner -- take note the charges for recording underage girl are not state charges. This was filed in the U.S. District Court for Eastern California (federal jurisdiction).

I'll have some cases falling off my fed docket later in July and can look it up for you then if you don't have an update before then.

Okay - I have 3 names here of people who have helped me find the next court dates - so @inmyhumbleopinion , @tv1991 & @realanastasia - does Jordon have a next court date yet - last one was on 6/24/22 a pre-preliminary hearing. Any news on when his preliminary will finally start?

I did go thru Judge Delaney's calendar thru 8/19 - and nothing came up. Hopefully she is the Judge on his Federal case.
