Lots of bears up there in mid summer.

Really wild to me that she hasn't been found. She was using a cane and this doesn't look like particularly forgiving terrain. How far could she have gotten? It also seems like its a fairly popular site.

Deputies: Woman, 71, safe after going missing at Lassen Park

A 71-year-old woman is alright after she went missing overnight.

Rosalyn Saxsenmeir, of El Granada, was found at about 6 a.m. by Shasta County Sheriff's deputies and Lassen Volcanic National Park rangers.
Her husband had reported her missing at about 9:30 p.m. Monday. She'd left about two hours earlier to go watch the sunset near Manzanita Lake and hadn't returned.

Deputies and park staff searched the area through the night but didn't find her until the morning. she had a few bruises but was otherwise OK, they said.

She'd gotten disoriented after sunset and couldn't find her way back to the camp.
