Description:
Tavakol went missing from Sherman Oaks, California on May 18, 1993. He was last seen departing from his mother's Northridge, California residence at at approximately 8:15 p.m, planning to attend a party with friends. He never arrived at his destination and has not been heard from since.
Tavakol resided in Sherman Oaks, California and was attending Pierce College at the time of his disappearance. His 1987 Nissan Sentra was discovered abandoned in Sherman Oaks on May 21, three days after he went missing. The vehicle was located in the parking lot of Ralph's supermarket in the 14000 block of Ventura Boulevard. There was no sign of him at the scene.
Authorities reported that within two months prior to Tavakol's disappearance, he had lost most of a $70,000 inheritance in a suspicious business deal. He vanished three days before he was supposed to start a new job as a bank teller. Foul play is suspected in Tavakol's case and his whereabouts remain unknown.
