Thanks, everyone for the update. Sam and I crossed paths a few times due to our line of work and for years I have carried around Soya's business card with her photo. I can't stop thinking about her, she is such a kind and gentle soul.

I don't personally think she 'took off into the mountains', but I know the overwhelming likelihood whenever someone goes missing with their car is that they've had an accident. Thus, I believe she drove somewhere remote or hilly enough that she's had an accident and her car has not been spotted yet.

I was just thinking the same thing and wondering about the car. It seems like the car has still not been located. I assume they have checked her hiking spots for her car and haven’t found it? I would think if this was a hiking accident situation, her car would have been left parked near a trail or something.

More likely there was a road accident and her car is in a ravine hidden from view. MOO
 
Someone on her FB page suggested they check the orchards for her car.
We have a lot of orchards on the outskirts of town and our neighboring small towns.

Orange, peach, almonds.

That was about the only new post I saw. Someone had also mentioned drones up, but it doesn't say if that's been done.

They do have flyers up, and a map of the areas that have been searched.
