Emi, thank you for all the posts and following this trial. you have done a super job here.

I can understand Jury's decision. I had hoped for DP just so that was hanging over his head. I pray she is found. She and her Family deserve a proper burial. Thanks Emi for your dedication here and anyone else who contributed.

Thank you to the jury for putting in the time and effort to reach this verdict. LWOP is okay with me.

Thank you Emi and everyone else posting tweets and keeping us updated.

Justice served. Now to find Sierra and lay her to rest [emoji253]

I think LWOP is better in many respects. He won't have the support of death penalty lawyers for years going forward for years. I am sure there will be some appeals or another but steam will run out quicker. With a lifetime stretched out before them, the majority of his family, if not all, will drift away from contact with him. The attention is now dimming and he is being left to rot in the dark.

That news release called it "today's death verdict."

It's dated for release today but must have been written in advance and no one thought to correct it.

On another note, I don't know why so many are disappointed. A death sentence would probably never have been carried out and I doubt it would have given him reason to tell where he put her body--he's the type that won't tell no matter what.

Death sentences that never happen really don't mean much. So it's "the principal of the thing." Sometimes death sentences are overturned and many of those get a chance at parole. AGT with his LWOP sentence will never have a chance at parole. Never.

I'm good with that.

Yep, and I don't know what the situation is in California but a lot of inmates have much better conditions when they are fighting a death sentence. Even just emotionally, he is the sort to need the stimulus of conflict to feel something, and now the world is just done with him, no more fight, we won. I really think "set and forget" is best for this monster. That said I do not begrudge anyone the desire to want him dead. If Sierra was my daughter I would want to murder him myself.

With this sentence I think he's less likely to appeal, since a new trial could hand down a DP sentence...

I think this is the right sentence. I wouldn't want to give AGT the cowards way out; a quick death. I prefer him captured in a small cell running the risk of getting the cr*p beaten out of him by the other prisoners, and wishing for death because of the intolerable boredom and suffocation of captivity. Yes, I think this is a perfect sentence for AGT. Well done citizens.

Hey all!

Good day yesterday for
JUSTICE for SIERRA!! :rose:

Lot of time/money in death penalty case (extra lawyers/experts) #SierraLaMar judge Vanessa A. Zecher sets Sept. 14/15 for sentencing.

That's true, I believe, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong about this, but he won't have the "automatic" appeals that come with the death sentence. Saves California a TON of money.
And thanks for the date of sentencing EMI - and ALL your tweets on this case and updates!
:tyou:

And "why" are they waiting 2 months to sentence him??? And two days for it???

Okay - as I read, I make comments, so...

Defense files motion for new trial. AGT attorney pats torres on shoulder. Back Sept 14-15 motion for new trial

So... does that mean NOT sentencing on that day?? :dunno:

:ditto: very well said! And your post rosesfromangels! Other prisoners do NOT like child killers...

Next dates:
July 21, 2017 at 1:30 PM in Dept. 40 - Status Hearing
September 14 & 15, 2017 at 9:00 AM in Dept. 40 - Motion

That's in correct . I heard today even if he gets a new trial the worse he can get is LWOP. Death Penalty is no no longer no matter what happens

They probably went into this with no body no weapon . Not many cases end up with the DP sentence without those two.
