I did post a nice message asking for an update, but my post disappeared by the next day. What's with that? This is just not right.

First, I love your avatar! :cat::cat::cat::cat::cat:

I just had a thought about the silence about Susan. I know of two cases on WS where the families have heard through LE that their loved one is alive and OK, but does not want contact. In both cases, the threads were closed and the families went silent. One revealed through social media that their loved one was alive, but the other didn't. I keep in touch with the latter Mom and she said that the family was advised by a non-LE professional they consulted that they should not continue the publicity because it could be seen as pressure and could push their loved one further away. Both families seemed to be loving and close, and appear to be trying to respect their loved one's heartbreaking wish to be out of touch. These cases involve adult unmarried children in their 30's, not spouses, but I wonder if there is something similar going on with Susan's family. Their silence was so sudden. If so, LE can't really comment and might shut down requests for info.

I certainly hope this is what has happened, as I don't like the alternative. But of course, disappearing before the first grandchild is born seems very strange.

LE would say if the person had been located, just not where. They can't risk having members of the public possibly searching, getting lost, injured or trespassing. They would simply state that the case was closed, if they were aware she had made contact, though generally they want to confirm the contact. Jmo

You're right, LE would say that a person had been located, if asked. Regarding the cases I mentioned, more was said on social media in addition to a police statement in one case. In the other case, people in the area are still wondering what happened, so whatever statement LE made was so low key, I don't really remember it, and I only heard about it through the Mom. But yes, they wouldn't want people to continue to search. But it's strange that they aren't answering requests for info about Susan in either scenario.

So is everyone going to wait around and have her declared dead in a 3 1/2 years?

I know other than at Raley's there is probably no place else to search, but dang, at least hand out flyers and search the wooded areas, and waterways.

This is the strangest thing I have ever seen. Nothing on her fb since July 2013? Also strange is no co workers from before she retired was speaking out when she went missing? She certainly is a mystery lady.

No friends, no outside activities, didn't have a cell phone, didn't have a computer. She just seemed so isolated from everything. I don't know if that was her choice, her personality or if there was something else going on there. Where is Susan???

It is maddening. Why does no one care that she is not yet located?!?!?

FWIW... I posted on her Missing Facebook Page a request to hear any updates on Susan's investigation...

I hope there is a reply...

:crossfingers:

That is what we have been told by her son... By Susan's non-SM and no friends coming forward, it is probably true. BUT what does that indicate? She's younger than me, and I am not a shut-in, although I do suffer from depression.

I felt like, from what son said, that Susan was an introvert and didn't care to socialize. I think she spoke with her sister some. But her sister didn't come out screaming either. She has commented on FB a time or two. I don't know if it was depression or if she was shy and backwards. I doubt the whole story will ever come out unless somebody finds Susan's remains.

"Here's the RPD's reply to my post...

Hello NXXX, it sounds like you're not aware of all the efforts the Roseville Police Department and the local community have made to find Mrs. Jacobson. Our department willingly committed a great deal of resources to investigate Mrs. Jacobson's disappearance. We also led several large-scale searches of open space areas in the areas where she was last seen, in which many police staff and scores of community members participated. Other community members spent a great deal of time helping by distributing flyers. Mrs. Jacobson is certainly not forgotten, and like you, we greatly hope that she will someday be found.

Well... I can reply to them that "DUH, I have followed this case from the beginning and have not heard any RECENT news on her case" - but I don't think I will. Anyone else have any response to this that would like me to reply back to them?
And by the way - if you noticed in my original post on the RPD site, I used some of your words, as they were GREAT!! LOL!"

I have absolutely no idea what to make of the RPD response. It almost comes across like they aren't even investigating anything. The response says that RPD "willingly committed...resources"? Say what? Isnt that the role/job of the police department? This was a missing woman - from all accounts and appearances, possibly abducted from a local grocery store parking lot. Why does RPD say they "willingly committed" - as opposed to what, being forced to commit resources?? All indications are that a CRIME occurred!

The entire response talks about searches in which police "staff" and "scores of community members participated." I must have missed that, despite living right in this area! There were never "scores of community members" doing anything.

Why does the RPD response avoid using the word "investigate"? There is no indication from their response that they view this as a crime worthy of being thoroughly and rigorously investigated by detectives. I don't know who wrote the response, but they whiffed on this one, big time!!

I mean, how much did they even interview and investigate her husband? Of course, it sounds like he and she were so antisocial that there was no one - no friends or even friendly neighbors - to even talk to to say, "Hey, I noticed their relationship was xyz, so it might be a good idea to talk to him." I hate to say it, but this could be one of those cases where she's inside the house or on the property, and there's just no way to get cause for a search warrant.

Generally, when a spouse disappears, the other spouse is often looked at first, i.e., investigated thoroughly. In this case, LE appears to have only searched for Susan, and did not go through her house, talk to neighbors, etc. The scene was such an amateur attempt at deception, IMHO, and I would think LE spotted that immediately. Nothing has ever been released regarding whether the husband took a lie detector test, results of investigations, etc. No vigils, no family pleading or outcries for LE's attention to this fragile family member's disappearance. We have basically been told "hands off" by LE actions and family silence, IYKWIM.

All I can think is that no matter where Susan is, she's much better off now. Sorry.

Well I thought about Susan today. I can see her being so happy to buy her grandchild things for Christmas. I am still sadly SMH.

I was thinking about her just alittle bit ago and when I saw her thread on the front I hoped maybe there was some news. :(

poor Susan...she could have had so many 'friends' here...who would be so thrilled to see her return

the silence is so sad, how do some of them continue like this?

I wonder why those twins seem to have quit doing anything for her? remember those 2 ladies back in the beginning?

I do remember the twins who vowed to find Susan in the beginning. They were probably discouraged from searching. Sorta-kinda like us.:gaah:

I don't think it would be him, as he was stalking joggers; unless Susan got out of her car and jogged to Raleys... I don't believe it would be him!

I was down in Roseville the other day and thought about Susan... :( Can't believe the RPD won't release SOMETHING to the public on the progress of her case! I, too didn't hear about ANY searches for Susan either... and truly surprised the family/sister/friends haven't done anything either.

anyway...

Happy New Year 2015 to everyone who posts and reads here!! :fireworks:
