The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has learned that kidnapping suspect Joseph Hetzel and kidnapping victim Virginia Paris are possibly headed to the Las Vegas area. At approximately 7:30 a.m. this morning, September 4, 2017, the two checked out of the Grand Canyon Inn in Valle, Arizona where they had spent the night. The Sheriff’s Office is releasing surveillance photos from the hotel that show Hetzel and Paris during the checkout process.

I've seen this mentioned several times. Do we know if there was a lock on the bathroom door. Sometimes public establishments have swinging doors, or no door at all. Locking herself in a stall wouldn't protect her, IMO.I imagine if he served time for making explosives to terrorize his former girlfriend, he wouldn't bat an eye of having weapons on him now. IMO
She took a big risk asking that woman for help where her saw here, and throwing her car registration out the window but it's not any bigger of a risk to lock herself in the bathroom and refuse to come out, getting the workers and the police involved. He might have just run and left her there, had she done that.

Family members are commenting on FB that she has been found safe. Haven't found a link to confirm.
