Annette Poitras, 52, is a professional dog walker who hasn’t been seen since 2 p.m. Monday when she was walking three dogs — a boxer, a collie and a puggle — in the area around Westwood Plateau and was expected home before dark. Annette is 4-11 with blonde hair. She was wearing either a navy blue or pink rain jacket when she left the house.

Doesn't sound al that good. I hope the dogs are still with her and protect her.

Annette Poitras was last heard from when she called a friend at around 2:30 p.m. on Monday and said she was walking her dogs near her home. Her vehicle was later found at the top of Plateau Boulevard and rescuers said she was not equipped to spend a night outside.

Search and rescue crews in Coquitlam, B.C. are searching rain-soaked Eagle Mountain today for a missing dog walker whose van was found in a golf course parking lot. Annette Poitras, 56, was last seen near Westwood Plateau Golf Club near the parking boulevards after 2 p.m. PT on Monday.

As many as 25 searchers are seeking clues but are dealing with frustrating wet and windy conditions that have likely wiped away any tracks she may have left and are limiting visibility for a helicopter search.

When she was last seen she was walking three dogs: her collie named Chloe, a young boxer named Roxy and an older puggle named Bubba.

A previous version of this story contained an incorrect age for Annette Poitras. In fact, she is 56.

She looks fit and smart. I hope she found shelter somewhere and is found safe.

I hope Annette is safe and just figuring her way out of all the bush.

I'm familiar with the location. My concern is bears (and coyotes less so). Dogs will take on a bear and when they realize they may not win, they run right back to the owner with the bear right behind them. Bears go into hibernation in late November but are in the process of fattening up for that long sleep.

I’m very familiar with the location too. It’s an easy place to get turned around, especially if one of the dogs went off the path and she followed to try and find it.

Wildlife is always a concern and this is definitely bear (and cougar) area. But I’m hoping that with three dogs, two of them being bigger ones, these creatures would keep their distance. I hope the dogs are keeping her warm. The weather is a huge concern, hasn’t stopped raining and it’s just so dark and dreary.

The heavy rain we're having these days isn't helping Annette or the searchers. With all that cloud cover, it would be so hard for her to get her bearings on which direction to take back out, and a real hindrance to aerial searching.

For those members not familiar with the area, here's the google satellite imagery to give an idea of what both Annette and searchers are up against. Her car was located near the top of Plateau Blvd (pretty much the centre of the screen):

Awww I bet her doggies are doing their best to keep her warm! I hope she can be found soon!

That map really does show what a huge task it could be to search the area. Thank you for posting it. I hope that she is found quickly. Hoping the dogs can be helpful in their search for her.

Oh no. Hoping she and the pups are found ASAP. I'm hoping since it's been raining, she will at least have access to water which might give her a better chance of surviving until she is found.
