Now yall know WE need to see this video with the shadowy figures, right? I can only.imagine the things we will see and notice in there! I trust our huge group of eyes more than the few that need to search, too. I'm going to hope for not puppies or smoke or dad jeans, so I can keep it separate from Libby and Abby video. But seriously, we need to see that recording! His yellow shoes almost glowed on film, so that's a good thing to see if he's in there

For the french speakers, an update from today and some good reportage from Ariel’s street. I didn’t realize before, but the Kouakou family live quite close to the intersection with Blvd Gouin. Google maps says walking time between there and the friend’s apartment is 5mins....so close.
The police are re-canvassing the area for cctvs and witnesses and the community volunteers have really stepped up with getting Ariel’s story out there.

Boy, 10, fights off potential abductor in Rosemont

Around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the boy was walking on Clark St. – his usual route home from school – when he crossed a man in his mid-50’s on the sidewalk.
The boy told police that he was intercepted by the suspect, who grabbed the boy's neck with two hands, coaxing him to follow.
However, the boy managed to wriggle from the grasp and punch the man in the face with a free hand.
He then ran all the way home to tell his mother what happened, and shortly after she contacted both police and the boy’s school.
The boy, while pretty shaken up, was not physically injured in the altercation.
The suspect in question was described as middle-aged, short, and balding, police said.

[h=1]'If you have our child, bring him back to us': Search continues for missing Montreal boy[/h]
Members of the community plan to retrace his steps through the neighbourhood Saturday morning in hopes of finding him.
Ariel's mother, Akouena Noëlla Bibie, spoke Friday afternoon, saying she hasn't slept since her son went missing. She asked for anyone with information about their son's whereabouts to come forward.

"It's been six years that we have been in the neighbourhood and our son never goes too far," she said.

"I am convinced he was abducted."

Good find !

This just sent me into panic mode ! It is very close to home and just reminded me that an alert was sent out from my boys' old primary school about this ! At the time, I didn't realize they were talking about a 10 year old boy.

Mozart/Clark, in Rosemont, is a 15-20 min drive to the area from where Ariel went missing.

Members of the community are retracing the steps of a missing 10-year-old boy this morning in Montreal after a week of exhaustive searches and still no sign of Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou.

Ariel was last seen Monday afternoon after leaving his home in Ahuntsic-Cartierville to walk to a friend's house.

After a late-night vigil outside the family's doorstep, the volunteer search party has drawn more than 100 people to comb the neighbourhood Saturday morning in hopes of finding him.

The family announced it is offering a $10,000 reward for anyone who has information about the disappearance of their son.

What did he do between 11:15 and 2:00 pm. This is what is troubling me. Why is he on no other video that afternoon? Was he in the park all of that time? Wasn't he getting hungry? What about the soccer ball? He didn't have one walking toward his friend's house. Did he have a soccer ball at the park when the woman saw him? Was it actually Ariel that the woman talked to?

So many questions.
This one is a heartbreaker.

I was hoping to find positive news this morning.

My heart is sinking. :(
Devastating....

Maybe someone gave him a soccer ball on his way to his friend.

I have my suspicions about that lady at the park, did she even meet with the family to talk to them? She was supposedly the last person to see Ariel. The nice thing to do would be to contact the family and talk to them, they must have a million questions.

Interesting interview regarding the work LE are probably doing behind the scenes. Basically, according to this commentator - who is an ex-police officer:

The major crimes unit has been involved for some time
Every single door between the two homes has been knocked at; LE do rigourous work knocking at people’s houses, finding out who lives where noone answered, checking again...
Known local sexual predators and released convicts are looked at
Every available CCTV footage is traced and analysed

The police command post has been moved from the Bordelais restaurant to the Galeries Normandie. Whithout being able to specifically say why, he suspects the change was motivated by the information at hand (or lack of).

The massive search going on this week-end (around 100 retired police officers are expected to join the volunteers) will hopefully uncover some new leads because if it doesn't, he sais, LE will be hitting a wall.

I showed the video to a male friend. Without telling him what was going on, and who the boy, was I asked what he thought he was doing. Without skipping a beat, he said the boy was turning to look at someone following him. :notgood:
