"Leslie said police opened a tip line last month in a bid to locate Montgomery's remains.

Prince George has been the scene of a high-profile case in which Cody Alan Legebokoff, 21, has been charged with the murder of four women.

The bodies of two of the victims were found in the Prince George area.

Another victim was located northwest of Prince George between Vanderhoof and Fort St. James.

Police have yet to rule out the possibility that Legebokoff could be linked to more killings. He is due back in court Monday for a pre-trial conference related to the four alleged murders."

He's known to have killed 4, there is a possiblility of more murders. He is 21 years old! I have no words.

Even more shocking, he's been in custody since November 2010, so he (allegedly) killed those women by the time he was 20, starting at the tender age of 19. And, who knows if there are other victims that haven't come to light yet.

"Last week, RCMP announced that they are stepping up their efforts to locate Montgomery. Constable Lesley Smith, media relations officer from the North District RCMP said, "Her family has held a healing ceremony and pleaded for information. RCMP are also asking people to continue to report any information," she said."

"Three of the murdered victims were found a short distance off gravel roads which were accessed from a main roadway or a highway," she said.

Based on the evidence surrounding the murders of the other women, police are asking hunters, riders and all outdoor enthusiasts to keep an eye out as they head into the woods this spring".

"Police are especially interested in information relating to side roads, logging roads, power lines and gravel pits between Prince George and Vanderhoof, as well as between Vanderhoof and Fort St. James and police are requesting that if any remains are located that they not be disturbed in any way. Instead the person should make a note of the location, or if possible obtain GPS coordinates and then provide that information immediately to police in their local area," Cst. Smith added.

Police are asking anyone with any information to call the specially created tip line at 1-877-987-8477.

I just googled a bunch of serial killers, I couldn't find one who started so young. If this guy hadn't been caught, can you imagine what his final bodycount would have been?

Same with Austin Sigg.

Wow! It sure seems as if these types of killers are getting younger and younger. The only thing positive to say about this is that usually the younger they are, the more mistakes they will make. Perhaps they will be caught quickly in their serial madness. Very disturbing!

I just read that his trial is going to start in September 2013.

Does Canada have Life W/O Parole?

I'm new to this thread and became intrigued with his case after seeing a Highway of Tears doc on YouTube.

Just wanted to throw out there that killers this young aren't unheard of. Jeffrey Dahmer killed his first victim at 18. Monte Rissell of Virginia killed 5 women in the 70s when he was 17 or 18. See the Robert Ressler piece on YT for that story. And, this is always going to be just speculation, but if Ted Bundy was involved in the Trumbull/Wick attacks in 1966, he would've been 19 and if he killed Ann Marie Burr in 1961 just 14. I'm sure there are others too. It is a creepy thought, but some of them can start very young.

The case of Cody Legebokoff is already before the court. A voir dire has been underway since October at the Prince George courthouse.

A voir dire is a "trial within a trial" typically to determine whether the accused's Charter rights have been violated during the course of the police investigation and to determine what evidence should be admitted to the trial proper, which is expected to be held before a jury.

Legebokoff, who is in his early 20s, is charged with four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of the women who vanished between 2009 and 2010.

A CBC reporter is tweeting from the courtroom, so there's no publication ban so far. I wonder why the trial will take so long. Is it because he is being tried for four murders at the same time? I suspect that a first degree murder conviction will result in a dangerous offender application and he'll never be released from prison. He should have considered pleading guilty, like Russell Williams, and negotiated for 25 years until he's eligible for parole rather than risk a dangerous offender ruling.

Crown: Constable pulled over Cory #Legebokoff truck. Saw blood smears on chin, legs and puddle on floor.

Crown: Cody #Legebokoff initially said he was checking road and found Loren Leslie, got scared and picked up items at scene.

Crown: Cory #Legebokoff said later he did meet Loren Leslie, had consensual sex, she "went psycho", hitting herself and stabbing herself.

Crown: Cory #Legebokoff changed story again. Say he hit Loren Leslie twice to put her out of her misery.

I can't believe the crown would settle for 2nd degree or manslaughter.

I am following Kirk Williams on Twitter.
CL is no "dangerous offender" IMO. He is far worst than that.

For brief overviews, here is a recent summary.

http://metronews.ca/news/canada/1052731/crown-claims-dna-link-to-accused-in-four-deaths/

The mention of Doug Leslie writing notes to his deceased, loving, blind teen daughter made this case even more abhorrent. I hope the defence does not try NCR tactics that could see him walking in a few years.

I don't think a link has yet been established between CL and the Highway of Tears, but I would imagine that one is being investigated.

"Kehler said he found a pair of crack pipes in the truck's ashtray, which Legebokoff said belonged to a friend.

The Crown has described Legebokoff as a frequent cocaine user who enlisted the help of sex workers to obtain the drug.

During an opening statement on Monday, a Crown lawyer said Stuchenko, Maas and Montgomery were cocaine users and had turned to sex work.

Stuchenko's body was found in a gravel pit in Prince George in October 2009, while Maas's body was found in a forested park in October 2010.

Montgomery, who was reported missing in September 2010, has never been found.

All three women were mothers.

The trial is expected to last six to eight months.

Legebokoff has pleaded not guilty"
