It's easy to get overwhelmed thinking about the things out of our control, that we can't do anything about. But we can remember that we are all in this together. The entire world is trying to deal with extraordinary circumstances. You are not alone. *Hugs*

A lot of stress comes with that, of course. It's ok to feel overwhelmed or even depressed about the way things are right now. Give yourself a break.

One way to look at things, though, is that we have one mission now, just one (pretty important and noble) job to focus on: preventing the virus from spreading to the more vulnerable parts of our population, by keeping to our own little bubbles.

Kinda like those living in extended isolation in places like the international space station or Antarctica, we can try to keep our minds on the mission. Set up daily routines and structures which help to reassure. Break problems down into smaller parts. Focus on the present rather than looking to a bleak future. Keep informed, but try not to obsess over numbers and projections. Relax the usual rules if you need to, in order to cope.

Maybe ask yourself: what can l do right now to make things a little bit easier for myself and my family?

Just my opinion, but I think it helps put things into a more manageable perspective.

wise and calming advice thank you

Oh no I didn’t take it that way. I agree. Just kinda seems bleak right now.
Gentle hugs. Xo

I feel like there is just no end to this.
Anyone else just feel so stuck?
Yes. I’m in Alberta. Cases are stacking up and on the rare occasion I have to go get groceries almost nobody is taking precautions. SaveOn foods is so packed with full families pawing all over merch and we live on a golf course that has become the popular secluded hang for 20 somethings to meet up and chat. Crazy times.

Hey everyone, just checking in again. Not much to report here on PEI...we've got 25 cases, 17 of them considered recovered. 1506 people tested, 99 tests still pending. Official online schooling started this past Monday. This is Day 28 of my social distancing...my husband has gone for groceries twice in these 28 days...I haven't been anywhere other than in the car for a little drive last Sunday and on Sunday the 22nd as well...just the Points East Coastal Drive up to the North Eastern part of the island. Not many people on the roads- don't know if it was because it was a Sunday or because of COVID-19, or because it was a rural spot to begin with. I'm in a rough spot mentally but I'm treading water and doing okay right now...trying to put on a brave face for my husband and daughter. It's been a hard adjustment having them home all the time, to be honest, but I'm glad we're all safe. I hope you all are staying healthy and well!

The size of the crowd was huge, and left many wondering why so many Londoners would converge on a single, albeit large, shopping venue. But the apparently crowded nature of the line also shocked the eye, with hundreds seemingly mere inches from the person before them.

When we went to look ourselves, we saw something quite different.

This photo of a Costco lineup sparked viral frustration in London. Did it show the full story?

That's a great example of how the news media often distorted the truth.

No, actually, according to the article, it was the news media exposing the truth.

This was a private citizen's photo that made the rounds on social media and it was the reporters who looked into it and proved that it was misleading.
