''DAWSON CREEK — Mounties in Dawson Creek are seeking your help in a missing person investigation.

RCMP say 29-year-old Darylyn Supernant was reported missing to police on March 23, 2023 and say she has not made contact with her friends or family since March 15, 2023, which they note “is out of character for her.”

Police say they are concerned for her safety and are exhausting all efforts to find her.

“The Dawson Creek RCMP have followed up on several leads already made to police and are seeking more information on her activities and whereabouts,” reads a news release.

Darylyn is described as:

• 5 ft 4 in (163cm)
• 119 lbs (54 kg)
• Black hair
• Brown eyes

High risk lifestyle, so might be drug related.


"[Brad Supernant, missing woman's father,] also says that his daughter was involved in a high risk lifestyle. with Dawson Creek Constable Emma Baron adding "we are aware that Darylyn was involvded in a high risk lifestyle. We don't know if that's directly related to her disappearance at this time. Again, we're always seeking more information".

The 29-year-old went missing March 15th with Baron saying that mounties are following every lead and talking to people on a daily basis."

In reading about this disappearance, I've seen articles suggesting that colonists label missing Indigenous women "high-risk" to transfer fault to the victim and reduce search efforts. I want to point out that the missing woman's father is the person who reported to RCMP that she is high-risk. I'm guessing that he reported lifestyle choices that warranted the label.

I don't think the label reduces search efforts, but it probably shifts the focus to drugs, prostitution, hitch-hiking, alcohol, party, new friends, and living on the far side. The search area suddenly becomes unmanageable.

The Dawson Creek RCMP are following up on leads - but still seek information on Darylyn Supernant - reported missing last month.

Human remains in Kiskatinaw River fuels speculation they belong to 1 of 4 people missing from Dawson Creek

Sources tell CJDC TV News that a body was found by a worker who was testing river water on Saturday.
