Any updates on what may have happened to Erin? The last msm article was in Oct/16 but there doesn't appear to be any new evidence in her disappearance.

Oct 14, 2016 | Vote 0 0 [h=1]It’s been one year since Mississauga model seemingly vMcGonigal, a model and former exotic dancer who goes by the alias Portia Devine, was "addicted" to social media and was very active on it, according to friends, but that all stopped on Oct. 6. She is described as white; 5'4" tall, 126 pounds, thin build, with long, straight, brown hair, although she has been known to change her hair color to blonde. She has a tattoo of the sun and moon on her upper back, between her shoulder blades. She also has a tattoo of the "Peterbilt " truck logo on her lower back. She is known to use the alias Portia Devine, or Portia Elizabeth Westendorp.
The News reported earlier that her friends are worried, and the Peel Homicide Bureau is monitoring the case.

Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau have taken carriage of a missing person investigation from 2015.

"It has been more than four years since Erin McGonigal went missing and her friends and family are still praying for her safe return.
Peel Regional Police said the Mississauga woman, who described working as a part-time model and go-go dancer in an online profile, was last seen by her husband on Oct. 6, 2015. At the time, police said the couple had separated and she was moving from their home on Cedar Creek Lane, in the area of Dundas Street East and Cawthra Road."
"Although there has been no trace of her in more than four years, Nielsen said there is no evidence suggesting she is dead, was abducted or is being held against her will. However, foul play has not been ruled out.

“There’s nothing to say that she’s dead," Nielsen said. "It is concerning that she hasn’t been in contact with friends or family for over four years. That's an extensive period of time. We do have some cases that are like that, but it’s rare.”

McGonigal, 35, has gone under a variety of aliases, including Portia Devine, Portia Elizabeth Westendorp and Erin Irene Mattar.
Her Model Mayhem profile said she ran a small trucking company in Mississauga and her Facebook profile showcases many photographs of her fixing and restoring trucks between 2013 and 2015."

Nielsen said any leads suggesting McGonigal may have fled to another city have been investigated. Police have also had assistance from Ontario Provincial Police, as well as police in Niagara, Windsor, Edmonton and Toronto. From what investigators understand, McGonigal intended on remaining in the GTA, according to Nielsen.
“That’s one factor that plays a part in considering the case as a whole,” he said in reference to her intentions.

Last person to see or speak to her is her husband, Oct 6th it sounds like.
Not reported missing until Nov 24th.
Erin is VP of her husband's trucking company and no word from that end.
Erin's FB page, seems she's happy with husband. Last pictures taken a week before last seen.
Seems like the answers lay with the husband.

I think detectives these days are taught to rely so much on technology and forensics, that they've lost the art of good old gumshoe detective work, when there is absence of the previously mentioned.
If there is no confession, no body, no crime scene, it seems like they are lost as to what to do and just wait for someone to come forward, be that in one year or twenty years.
If they believe the husband is responsible, but have no probable cause to get a warrant to search the property where they lived, then there is not much more effort or funding they will put into the case other than waiting for a new tip to come in.

The family has to constantly keep on their butts or this case will go by the wayside for other newer pressing cases, which is a very sad reality.

Not much specific information out there about Erin's last known movements and if indeed her husband was the last known person to see and speak to her.
If he was, then the gap between Oct 6th and when she was reported missing Nov 24 (?) tells the story.

All just my personal opinions.

Yes Portia is still missing !!! I’m a close friend and previous employer of hers !! Her friends were the ones who went to police and reported her missing not her husband who she was in process of leaving!!! Her phone, belongings, custom truck that was her pride and joy was not taken and at husbands ???? I met with detectives along with many of her close friends and from what I was told he was not being co operative with police!!! It’s been so long and sad and we all miss her very much!! Thank you
