Again? This seems so unusual.

Not sure I understand this statement from the ME in the linked article:

It seems 10 feet found that belonged to missing persons sounds somewhat suspicious.
This is what I always thought. They all seem to be running shoes. Like, if they were suicides, I'd expect to see different shoes on their feet. But it's always running shoes. So many people run nowadays, it seems an easy target as someone is likely listening to music and attention is on their breathing, body movement, maybe the difficulty of their run. If someone wanted to attack a runner, just following someone until you can tell they are struggling at the end of their run, they're spent, it's an easy target who can't put up much fight or run fast.

If you read my post on the first page of this thread I explain this. But in short to answer your question, running shoes these days are very buoyant and have lots of air pockets, hence why they float. I suspect numerous people commit suicide, or fall in to the ocean wearing black Oxford style shoes, or heavy steel toed work boots as well, but those shoes just never surface due to their density and make.

None of the BC missing feet at least are connected to any kind of "foot killer". It's all just the work of the tides.

This new Washington case though... I mean, they are in bags, so that just seems fishy from the off.

That's very true about weight for other shoes. Very good point. Thanks for addressing that!
